Torn about what to do

I successfully made all of my ressies this morning. After all of my planning, I discovered what might be a "flaw" in my plans!!!

I made an 8pm reservation for Narcoossee's on our MK night. I just realized that this is the only evening DH and I have in MK....(I planned on full day and one morning.)

So, if we go to Narcoossee's, we will miss the parade and seeing the park in the evening. I could change the reservation to something like Kona Cafe, which would give us our evening back in the park.

DH doesn't care a bit what we do or about parades in general.... He told me to do whatever I want!

what do you want? The dinner, or the parade?

I guess that's the big question... And I want both!!! Lol... But since that's not possible, I wondered what others would do.... I've never eaten at a signature restaurant before.

It's hard to say what others would do...I'd take the dinner but I have seen the parade more times than I can count.

I made the reservation at 8 so we could see wishes from there... Wishes isn't until 10 so I wonder if an 8:00 reservation is too early???

Also, does anyone know if we can see wishes from the restaurant or do we need to go to a viewing area?

You may have to walk outside onto the patio to see Wishes. Even if you are sitting at a table by the window you will be seeing the heads of the persons standing on the patio. Most fireworks are high enough that you can still see them, but do you want to see the heads, that is the question.

Thanks for your help! I think we are keeping the 8pm reservation and then will go to the viewing area to see wishes when we are finished eating. I think I am over thinking this... and just need to stop worrying!!

I think you have a good idea there. You can also decide if you like the view from your seat enough, then you can stay there instead of walking out onto the patio. I like the patio though.

LOL! You cannot do both. With that said, my family favorite is Narcoosee. WE book at 8 for 10 PM WIshes, and we view from the porch. The meal is really lovely, the service stellar! And if you are lucky you will be served by Amar! He is outstanding, hysterical and did I mention very nice?

We are going for a less hectic trip since this is our first trip without our kids; however, every time I plan a quieter evening or morning I keep thinking about what we are not going to see and do! It's a real problem! lol...

I will look out for Amar when we go!

LOL@ I know! Its always the one that gets away that I wory about! LOL!

We did dinner at Narcoosee earlier this month and loved it. The view is beautiful and relaxing out on the porch or sitting on the dock. You can go out and see the electrical water pageant as well prior to the fireworks. I had the filet and scallops. They were outstanding and the french press of tea with dessert was outstanding!

I don't have children but I would offer this piece of advice for your adults only trip, do lots of things you wouldn't typically do because of having children like signature restaurants or nibbling/sipping around the world or indulging in room service or whatever. Enjoy your alone time. It can be precious!

I agree. While you can take kids to just about any event in WDW, it is not always feasible. The few times I have vacationed in WDW without little ones in tow have been much different than when we had them with us. Something as simple as hopping over to the Poly for a glass of wine in the afternoon would not have happened if my DGD was with us. We might have scooted out of the MK but would have returned to the resort. My glass of wine would have happened in any case but the atmosphere was different. Indulge in "wasting" time that you would not with the kids, it is time well spent.
