Can you tell me more about the dinner experience at Topsiders? We are considering a cruise but late dinner seating is all that is available and we have a one year old so that prob. won't be an option. Is it a buffet or sit down?

We didn't do dinner at Topsiders but we did ask to be waitlisted for early seating and we were changed.

It was sit down when we did it a couple of years ago with a seperate menu. It is nice to have it as an option, but it was not as good as the regular dining rooms.

Put your name on a waitlist and see if you can get moved to early.

We also had late seating on our 1/29 Magic cruise, and ate at Topsiders for dinner 2 nights. It is sit down, but the menu does not change nightly. We found the food to be good - just not the variety you'd get in the dining rooms. Also - Topsiders dinner was only served from 6:30 - 8:30 each night, so you still need to have a plan to get there and coordinate with show times, etc.

I agree with the previous poster to try and get switched to early sitting. Hope that helps!

And, Topsiders isn't open the first or last night of your cruise for dinner.

DH and I really loved Topsiders for dinner. It was nice to not have to dress for dinner if you didn't feel like it and to go whenever you wanted. Also, it was very quiet and relaxing. We ate there several times and thought the food was excellent. Sorry, I don't remember specifics except that there is a fish dish every night (the tilapia was wonderful). I also remember a beef dish that someone told us was very good. There were also several salads, appetizers and desserts to pick from.

If you can't get switched to early seating, you could still eat a little something early with your child and then give going to the dining room a try - see how far you get. At the least, you probably could have a nice drink and appetizer while your child plays with a Mickey ice cream bar.
