What are your top tips for travelling to WDW pregnant! TIA:)

I will be three months gone when we travel in 3 weeks. I am going to take it easy, take regular breaks and drink lots.

Know your limits, only do as much as you can. Make sure you got good insurance and take your pregnancy notes with you.

Have a great holiday :thumbsup2

Drink alot and take breaks. Don't feel you have to go at breakneck speed. Try to get some shade whenever possible. Also- go to the Main Street bakery and eat stuffed french toast and cinnamon buns!:cutie: I find that always makes me feel happy!princess:

I guess it depends how far along you are when you go. But I did Disney when I was in my 7th month with no problems. I didn't have any problems with swelling feet, but then maybe I was lucky. Just make sure to drink a lot-I dehydrate easily without even realizing it. I still went on rides, although not all of them. Take breaks if you need to. Other than that, its really just another trip to the mouse (at least for me it was). Have fun!

Hi. I will be seven months preg. when we go in Dec.(Due March17th)I would love a list of the rides "keep moving forward" rode, as nothing beats first hand experience. Thanks, Janice

I went when I was 4 months pregnant and had a great trip. The biggest thing is you have to go at your own pace. It was definitely a different type of trip but I still did so much. Just remember to drink a lot and of course eating was never a problem! You can eat all of those things you would normally feel really guilty about ;) We took an afternoon break and it worked great, I was good to go for the evening. Have a great time!

signng on we might take a trip in Sept and I will be 5 months preg curious to see what rides people went on

I went on quite a few rides, I'll try to list what I can remember.

MK: Peter Pan, IASW, Carousel of Progress, Cindy's Carousel, Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Astro Orbiter, Buzz Light Year, Aladdin, Railroad, Haunted Mansion, Winnie the Pooh, Snow White

Epcot: Spaceship Earth, Boat in Mexico, Maelstrom, Soarin, Living with the Land, Ellen's Energy,

AK: Safari (the sign says no but I researched and had no problems). I don't think we stayed here very long because the heat was so bad.

MGM: I can't remember doing much here. The Great Movie Ride

Of course all of the different 3D shows and regular shows are great. I went to all of those!

Hope this helps :)

When I was 7 months along, AK was not in existance...so I can't give any tips there. RNRC was not there either. A lot of the thrill stuff was not around at all-this was in 1992. However, I did go on Space Mountain-my DS came out fine BTW. ;) I did skip Splash Mountain, but that was because I just don't like water rides. I did the teacups and then of course all the very tame stuff too. Did Body Wars and Star Tours, again, no problems. I didn't have to worry about any strange or disapproving looks from people because you couldn't tell I was pregnant...weird thing in my family...the women carry inward and not out...don't ask, the doctor told me it is very rare but it happens. I'm not a big girl at all, so it was very uncomfortable, but that was regardless of whether I was doing Disney or just sitting my butt home. We had a blast and if I had to go again while pregnant, I'd do it the same way-go on anything I felt I was up to.

I notice you are from Ireland, we are from the UK so i was worried about the long flight. Take some flight socks with you, i know they look horrid but there is an increased risk of DVT when you are pregnant. Safety first!

We just got back from a DL vacation and I was at 31 weeks. My youngest still naps so I just went back to the hotel during the middle of the day with her and rested for a few hours. It made my trip much more enjoyable. I was able to go on the rides that she was able to go on, so I didn't feel like I missed out on much.

I went in my 6th month, which was in June of 04, and I had a great time. I did discover that some pregnant women develope a huge sensitivity to the sun. This was totally unexpected since I am from Texas and am totally used to the heat. I was at MK the first day and by 2pm, I had red blotches all over my legs. I thought maybe it was the soap at the hotel, but when I woke up the next morning, it was much worse. :confused3 A quick trip to the minor emergency clinic on Vineland-Apopka road just outside DTD started our second morning. I found out this was something they see alot in pregnant women at WDW and was a very routine case. My nurse said that the first aid stations in the park could've explained it had I stopped in when I first noticed it. I wish I could remember the medical terminology. I was given a prescription for some steroids and sent to buy some long pants and long sleeve shirts. I was told that when I was as covered as I could stand it, I could go back to the parks! After a quick trip to Wal-mart, we were back in business. My OB was not even slightly worried when I returned and I still had a great time. I would totally go preggers again, though maybe in January with a sombrero!
Just remember to relax, talk about it with your OB, go slow and Have Fun! (Oh, and if you know what you're having and have a name, get some ears. I'll always treasure my DS first ears! :earsboy: Just thinking about them makes me smile.)

There may not be rides like this at Disney, but when I was pregnant I went on a giant swing ride at my local Six Flags. There are many swings hanging from chains and they go smoothly in a big circle. I didn't think there would be a problem going on them, right?
The most uncomfortable feeling in the world is when all the excess fluids that you have been accumulating in your legs are suddenly urged by centripetal forces into your feet... :scared1: :sad2: :scared:

I think there are lots of rides you can go on as long as you're ok with the fact that you'll have to skip many of the big thrill rides. I have to say that I can't imagine going on Astro Orbiter while pregnant... not because it's an unsafe ride, but I could barely get in and out of that ride when I wasn't pregnant let alone being 6-7 months pregnant!! I think I'd probably get stuck if I tried that one!

Be sure to snack between meals and drink a lot of fluids. I have been several times while pregnant and only had problems once. I passed out right before getting on the Snow White ride. I had never passed out before, so I did not pay attention to the warning signs. I felt weird and then got dizzy, tunnel vision and then couldn't hear well. We had been in line a while and I was NOT going to get out of line! Once I got to the front of the line I knew something was really not right and I looked at the CM (young guy) and said "I need help" and then fell on him! He was very young and I was really showing, so I think he was more scared than I was.:rotfl: Luckily he and DH caught me. Everything was fine. I just had gotten too hot and apparently my blood sugar was low. I did wake up to 5 CMs, one stretcher, a wheelchair and many passerby staring. Luckily I didn't need the stretcher and I later regretted not taking the wheelchair (I saw 2 other pregnant people being pushed around in them later). It is a funny story now, but I was really embarrassed then.

I went to MK in DLP when I was 6 months pregger. I rode everything except Splash Mountain, Space Mountian and Star Tours. I too rested, went at my own pace, rode different rides (more kid friendly and no thrill rides), and ate all the goodies like cookies and mickey bars (yum). The had a harder time with the 8 hour flight from the States to France then in the MK. My OB recommened childrens asprin for the plane ride. I would confirm with your OB though.

We are going in Sept again when I will be 6 months pregger yet to WDW this time. I enjoyed the responses as it is different staying several days at WDW as apposed to 1 day at the MK plus with a DD2.

Drink lots of water, AND make sure to review the map before you go and memorize locations of all the bathroom, you will probably need them all! (And this memorized list will come in handy when you go back to WDW with toddlers!)
