Spent two hours in the lounge last night, from 6-8.

Myself, the bartender, and two servers...

Just the three of us, FOR TWO HOURS!

Folks, please start using this beautiful lounge or we are going to loose it!

The cast was very upbeat and fun to talk with, but you could feel the disappointment in their voices!

are the same rules still in force?I would love to visit it
but we arent staying there this trip.
Will they let us up?

Maybe folks think it will be crowded and so too many don't bother to try.

Our family stayed on rental points in March and DH and I went up to look around. it is beautiful but we were the ONLY ones there

It was packed last week, every night at after dark with many cocktails being served.

It was moderately busy when we were there last September. We loved going up there after a busy day, settling in with an adult beverage and then going outside when the MK fireworks started. We got to enjoy Wishes and Hallowishes on a couple of occasions. We are staying at BLT again this September and looking forward to fireworks and drinks at the Top of the World!

If all goes well I'll be up there for a night in July, can't say I'll be a big spender though. I think they need to open the place up to DISboard DVC meets. ... I hear someone around here has mints.

Slightly off topic, back last summer when we toured TOTWL and the Grand Villa we were given complimentary sodas. When a man asked if he could buy a beer they stated that the bar wasn't stocked. Missed opportunities there or do they need a permit to sell at that time of day?

I think there's a big problem with attracting people to a view lounge with a limited and expensive menu and no "exclusive" view unless you go outside and peer over the edge. Was there two weeks ago and even standing up in the lounge, you can just see the tops of the castle spires and a bit of the top of Space Mountain-that's it. If you sit down, virtually nothing's visible. Why that lounge wasn't built elevated over the concrete fortress walls outside to be truly a top of the world view is a mystery. No surprise if people aren't flocking there.

Now THERE'S an idea! I'd like see them open it up to DVCers staying at other resorts, on a space available basis. What concerns me is that if attendance is low, they might open it to CR resort guests. However, I'd much prefer to see them keep it in the DVC family than the Contemporary family.

We're staying at BLT this July & definitely plan on spending some time up there!

We'll be there in exactly 2 weeks and definitely plan to check it out. Only drawback is it will be Grad Nite at MK so no fireworks as far as I can tell. Still, we'll enjoy some quiet time in the lounge. Any good spots for watching the Electrical Water Pageant if not staying in a LV room?

We are going in August and will definitely go and spend some time- we are really looking forward to it!

What are the rules? Can any DVC member go up there or do we have to be staying at BLT? We would love to try it out but may never get a chance to stay at BLT.

If they ever open it up to all DVC members, DW and I will be there several times a year. We have no desire to stay at BLT not big MK fans we prefer Epcot but would love to visit someday.

I'll be there in May and I'll be sure to purchase some adult beverages. I'll be celebrating my 45th so I have plenty of years to toast!:thumbsup2

We really enjoyed it last Nov and hope to again this Nov- We sat in the second row of tables from the windows(the high tops) and had a lovely view of most of the castle in Christmas glory and quite a bit of that side of the park. It was obvious we had the best table for viewing the park and seeing things and the next night we got up their a bit earlier and made a dinner of 1 1/2 flat breads each and then sipped cocktails through fieworks time and a bit afterwards. There were a number of people in and out- some for drinks and others for food. the first night we moved to this table after another group left- but the 2nd night we started at it. I think there are 2-3 of these tables with decent views and the one we sat at had the best views. I didn't ever wander directly over to the bar so I don't know what the view is like there. Most of the seats were definately too low to see anything though.

I think it would be nice to see it opened up to at least all BLT owners (if not all DVC owners!!). I own at both BLT and AKL and during my last trip, was staying at AKL. Although I wanted to check out the lounge, and own at BLT, I was unable to because I was, on that particular trip, staying at my other home!!

I guess they will at some point have to evaluate if they need to open it up to more people--w/o overwhelming the place like the California Grill used to get when it was open to anyone who just wanted to wander on up.
We're staying at BLT in May and intend to visit the Lounge regularly!!

We're planning to go up several of our 5 nights in May.

We enjoyed it very much in Sept and December. The CMs are great. One night we made a light dinner of flatbreads in the lounge and plan to do that again.

The view of Wishes is spectacular. I like it much better than from California Grill for some reason.
