Family and friends (5 of us) are staying at Kidani January 19-25, 2020. Are we able to go watch the fireworks on the 19th while staying at a different DVC resort? Also, how often does it reach capacity? Would it be likely to reach capacity on a Sunday evening?
Yes you can go to watch fireworks while staying at Kidani (but must use Disney transportation as parking is not provided at BLT/Contemporary)
I think it rarely reaches capacity but if you arrive very close to fireworks you may have people in front of you to watch. The actual lounge doesn’t have a lot of seats so if you are going to relax and have a couple drinks I’d go early
We usually stay at the BW and the main reason we don't go to ToWL is due to difficulty of getting back to our resort. I'm thinking the best option may be Uber, LIFT or a Minnie Van, it may cost you a few $$ but at least it would be an efficient means of transportation between both resorts. If you go I hope you enjoy the view. One of these days I'm going to go again and I think I will take one of my suggested forms of transportation back to the BW. Enjoy!
We're BLT owners, taking a family trip in October, hoping they arent too busy/strict when we're there as we would like for some of our family and friends to come.
You didn't say you were DVC members in your original post, so I feel the need to point out that staying in a DVC resort (direct through Disney, or rental points, etc...) doesn't give you access to TOTWL. Access to TOTWL requires a DVC member to flash their credentials in order to get to the elevator that takes you up there.
Correct. If some of your family is staying in a different villa without a DVC owner on that reservation, technically, they cannot go up with you on your reservation.

I remember them having certain restrictions, but the new website is very vague on guests of the member. It does not mention a number allowed or that they have to be on the reservation.

If you click above in the highlights section it does state the guests are to be on the members reservation. Now often times the CMs don’t actually verify that.

Thank you. I don’t see why they have you open up the info. Just have it all there to read. I’m not likely to click on highlights, but how to get in, people will open. There is not a lot of info.
