Top 5 Restos!!!

We like to go somewhere new everytime we come to WDW. It will be our 5th time next October. We try to go places we will get the most bang for our buck. We have not always liked everyplace we have eaten. Some of our worst ones are Tonys and Prime Time Cafe(hit or miss). We have been on both the DDP and regular DP but last year had free dining with one TS added. My best advice with ressies is keep calling. People cancel at the last minute all the time. You may be able to get in.
Here are my favorites!

TS
Jiko at AK
Sanaa AK
Teppan Edo Epcot Japan
Ohannas, Crystal Palace, and Akershus for breakfast (more than 5 I know!)

QS

Pinochios (not sure if this is the right name but we go there every time)
Noodle Station MK
Cosmic Rays MK

Snacks

Currently, I'd say these are our top 5:

1 - Artist Point
2 - The Plaza
3 - Garden Grill
4 - California Grill
5 - Crystal Palace

Great question! (This should be an ongoing thread).

The last time we were there was 2008, so these are 2008 and previous date favorites. Some of our picks apparently are not as good as 2008. We're going again this March and plan to find out.

In order all Signature Table Service, ie Expensive, but good:

1. Flying Fish
2. Citricos
3. California Grill
4. Jiko (We've heard/read this is not as good as it was in 2008)
5. Brown Derby

(Not in Order, Quick Service or "Not as Expensive")

1. Tokyo Dining Sushi
2. Wolfgang Express
3. Turkey Legs at MK or HS
4. Sunshine Seasons
5. The Wave

My personal faves are (in no particular order):

Raglan Road
The Plaza
Yak & Yeti
Earl of Sandwich
Yakitori House

Not bad for 6 days notice! I am especially impressed that you got into Crystal Palace - that one books up pretty quick. Any Character Dining does really, but that one in particular. 50's Prime time is always fun too! Congrats on getting these!

In no particular order

You'll love Kona and Crystal Palace! :) I haven't done any of the others, but I agree with PP that I'm impressed that you got what you did at only 6 days out.:thumbsup2

I have eaten at Crystal Palace Before with my best friend but this time i'm taking my mum as she LOVES PIGLET!!!!!!

I've heard great things about Kona, so i'm hoping my dad whose rather picky when it comes to food will enjoy it!!!!

Thanks for all the Advice!!!

Krista

TS:

-Le Cellier
-Hoop-Dee-Do Revue (if you like hokey dinner theater, this is for you! Since we love cornball humor, ribs and fried chicken, this was a big hit)
-Cape May Cafe (we had the dinner buffet; great for seafood lovers, but lots of options for non-seafood eaters. This is my personal favorite TS restaurant)
-Crystal Palace (can be hit and miss, but it's a great breakfast option)
-Rose and Crown (found this to be hit and miss, but the fish is to die for, plus it's more than worth it for the view of IllumiNations).

CS:

-Columbia Harbour House (best in MK, I think)
-Tangeriene Cafe (huge portions, and my personal favorite CS in all of WDW)
-Sunshine Seasons (fabulous selection)
-Flametree Barbecue (did I mention that I like ribs?)
-Fairfax Fare (the only decent CS in HS, IMHO. Try the ribs.)
- and a 6th option, Earl of Sandwich in DTD. AMAZING.

I swear, I eat more than ribs at Disney, LOL! There's just something about them, I can't stop!

Also, I'll mention a few snack places..

In Epcot.. Kaki Gori has amazing shaved ice, and Japan is a great place to relax, especially if the drummers are playing or if the Candy Lady (whose name escapes me at the moment) is doing a presentation. You can get some amazing pastries in Norway, and I must mention the Margarita stand in Mexico ;) Aloha Isle in MK has the Dole Whip Float, which is a must do.

Ohana-love the steak, all the sides, the atmosphere!
Cali Grill-fabulous filet, like getting a little dressed up and enjoying the view of the castle.
Biergarten-love the salads (I'm not a huge meat eater) and LOVE the entertainment.
Whispering Canyon Cafe-finger-lickin'-good skillet, kids love the antics.
Sorry there's only 4. There are tons of places we really like, but these are just the MUST do's. We're trying a few new ones this trip (Sci-Fi, Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's, as well as Wolfgang Puck Express as a counter service) so I hope to have some NEW favorites!
Enjoy your vacation!!

Hey Everyone,

So my family is going to WDW in a weeks time and after looking at the boards for a while I have a question!!!!

What are your top 5 DDP Restaurants, either TS or CS!!!!!!

Looking forward to seeing your responses!!!!!

Krista

Our family went in 2009 and our top 5 favorites were:

LeCellier for dinner
Boma for Breakfast
Hollywood Brown Derby for dinner
Hoop Dee Doo
Teppon Edo for dinner

We are going again March 2011, we are looking forward to trying below:
California Grill for dinner
Kouzzina for dinner
La Hacienda for dinner
Cape May Cafe for Breakfast
Tusker House for breakfast

TS in order of preference based on food:

1 Kona
2 Coral Reef
3 50's Prime Time
4 Chef Mickeys-breakfast
5 Sci Fi
6 Marrakesh
7 Nine Dragons

Based on atmosphere/experience:

1 Coral Reef
2 Sci Fi
3 Chef Mickeys-breakfast
4 50's
5 Kona
6 Nine Dragons
7 Marrakesh

The only ones that I'd never return to are Marrakesh and Nine Dragons. I love Chinese food, but my dinner there was really awful. I should have sent it back. My bad experience at Marrakesh was based more on how we were treated than the food. Wait staff was rude. I was with my mom who was confined to a wheelchair and they acted like it was a burden for them to have to deal with seating us properly so she could actually sit at the table. Not very Disneyish. The food was just OK, which with the inflated price, made the experience even more negative. The other 5 places were all really good so it was hard for me to put them in order!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

***I just realized that I read your question wrong! So basically I listed every TS restaurant I've ever eaten in and gave you my choices in order....:rolleyes1***
