TOP 5 RESTAURANTS - TABLE SERVICE

Thanks for all these suggestions guys! Would my picky kids like Boma and Sanaa? We went to Akershus and my Son age 2 at the time refused to eat his dinner. All he ate was grapes and bread

They have grapes and bread at Boma, and bread (service) at Sanaa. ;)

But seriously, the buffet at Boma has lots of options, and I am pretty sure there are kids' menu options at Sanaa if your kids don't want to try something new. If they like Indian food, they will find plenty to like from the Sanaa regular menu.

Do not go to t Rex. It is so disappointing. But if you do actually go do not sit in the ice cave - the blue light will annoy you and make food look unappetizing and it is very loud.

Top 5 for our family in no particular order:
Be our guest
Cindy’s royal table 2 credits...
Sci fi
Garden grill
Kona cafe

Agreed that Boma buffet has plenty of options so you will be fine..... I also wanted to say that I've never had an issue ordering 'off-menu' at WDW restaurants. I've just said my kid won't eat any of this - can you do pasta, hot dog, plain chicken, etc? WDW is so accomodating for picky kids. (Thank goodness, otherwise my kid would have gone hungry A LOT).

We haven't eaten at either of those places coz I know my picky 62 year old DH wouldn't eat his dinner! :lmao:

We like plainer type foods. With kids, I'd suggest:

- Sci Fi. The atmosphere is totally different from any place else. Kids love the cars & it is cool, dark & quiet. All great things to recharge in the park. And the burgers & desserts are so good.

- BOG lunch or dinner. I think it is a pretty good value for a 1 credit meal & at dinner, you get to meet the beast.

- Garden Grill seems to get good reviews from families with kids. As adults we didn't care for the food, but the character interaction there gets lots of rave reviews.

- Liberty Tree Tavern at lunch. You can order the all you can eat feast or from an ala carte menu. The restaurant is divided into smaller rooms, so again, it is a little quieter & really relaxing way to recharge during the day. There is a lot of variety to the ala carte menu, so something for everyone.

Only 4, but at's all I can think of right now.

Boma would be fine with a picky kid. In addition to the more "exotic" (and it's not really that exotic) foods, there is a section that has more kid-friendly foods. I think last time we were there it was along the lines of plain pasta/tomato sauce, green beans, peas and carrots, and corn dog nuggets.

When my son was 2, he discovered there that he loves cous cous, which is also pretty tame, flavor-wise.

There are also usually options like chicken, fruit, vegetables, bread, etc., and the dessert section includes things like cookies and cupcakes.

Cape May Cafe is a wonderful buffet at the Beach Club (about a ten minute walk from the World Show Case). It also seems to have a good food area for children.

We are staying at AKL in April. I have kids the same age as you two girls 7 and 3 (I also have an 8 mo old boy): We are doing the following: Jiko (dinner- for my DH's birthday), Boma ( breakfast- I've eaten dinner here, but I hear breakfast is great so we are going to try it); Sanna (for lunch), Mama Melrose (lunch -my oldest loves Fantasmic so we are doing a dining package), and Akershus (breakfast cause my 3 year old loves princesses). We don't do the dining plan. We find it isn't worth it for us, but for some it totally is worth it.

As you can see, I'm a big fan of eating where we are staying or where we plan to be that day. Why wouldn't you at AKL, it has some of the best dining on property. Plus it just makes life a bit easier with my crazy crew. While I like 1900 Park Fair and 'ohana, the travel isn't worth it to me. They are both fairly close to the MK so it might work with the MK day. We did eat at '0hana last trip, but we stayed at the Poly. Others feel differently and believe it is worth the trip.

If you are just looking for meals kids that age like, my two are big fans of: CRT, Tusker House, O'hana, Beaches and Cream. My girls also really liked the HDDR, the dinner show at Fort Wilderness, which is a huge pain to get to but really fun.

With two kids that age, here are the ones I'd pick...

1) Tusker House for their breakfast buffet - lots of great "regular" food for the little ones (Mickey waffles, donuts, and bacon always worked for my kids) and some different dishes for Mom & Dad, plus the characters are super fun! We always skip the line for a pic with Donald at the beginning and just go right in.
2) Sci-Fi - my boys LOVED sitting in the cars and watching the movies during dinner. We gave them the front seat and they thought it was great that they were "driving" the car and we were the passengers. Some of my favorite pics are of my two boys having a good old time together in the front seat, thinking they were getting away with something.
3) Cape May Café - it's worth the trip to the Beach Club for this one. We did the dinner buffet and they had a great kids selection, and lots of great stuff for adults as well. It's a little more spread out inside and quieter than some of the park restaurants, and it's a really nice area to just stroll on the Boardwalk.
4) Les Chefs de France - we love the food here, and the kids portions are huge. My boys loved the warm baguettes and fresh butter that comes with the meal, too. I don't know if Remy still comes around, but that was certainly a highlight for my kids. We had a window table and they loved people watching, too.
5) We love The Plaza in MK, too. It's not big inside, but the food is simple and the wait staff is always great. They have fantastic ice cream and shakes, too. It's a nice place to take a break inside the MK.

Have a great trip! :-)
