Top 3 TS for First Timers?

OP here....I'm still keeping track! Keep the opinions coming!

Someone tell me a little more about Biergarten and Whispering Canyon? I have been to all the others mentioned, but not those two.

Is Biergarten a buffet? Is the food good at Whispering Canyon or just okay?

Thanks again!

Crystal Palace (If you think they'd enjoy a character meal)
Boma
Le Cellier

Biergarten for sure! My husband loved it! It has typical guy food I mean what mad doesn't love a buffet with an array of sausages :) Lots of different beer options. You are seated at a table of 8 long benches on either side. Great atmosphere and a nice German beer selection which my husband appreciated. I LOVED Raglan Road not for the food but for the dessert. A 21 year old may like it for the pub feel and the pretty step dancer at night. Boma was my favorite restaurant of the trip great carving station and good food. :)

Biergarten is a buffet with German food. Think all kinds of sausages, schnitzel, and the like. I would have recommended it if the guys would like to order beer.

Along similar lines, a non-buffet for beer drinkers I would suggest would be Raglan Road in Downtown Disney. They have special beer flight samples. I ordered one with my meal there.

And I think if you're going to take them into the Rose and Crown Pub, they have bar food there. I can personally attest that the single most unexpectedly good sandwich there is the English Bulldog. It's really bad for you, so you know it's good! You might think a hot dog split, covered with mashed potatoes and cheese and a squiggle of mustard on a half piece of toasted bread sounds gross...but it was fantastic. Especially with a beer. I call that the 3 o'clock snack! :rolleyes1

What about ESPN Zone? You don't need ADRs but for 2 21yr old males it seems a good fit.

Ohana and SciFi are good selections as well.

Not sure if you will have park hopper tickets but I would suggest:

- Biergarten Restaurant (Epcot) - casual but hearty German Beer Garden setting
- Tuttl Italia Restorante (Epcot) - italian food & wine
- California Grill (CR) - classic Disney icon location with view serving California cusine often booked to view Wishes

or for food with a little spice
Yak & Yeti Restaurant (AK)

Biergarten - good but note it is beer garden type seating
Whispering Canyon - we did not care for the food. Greasy and salty. Very poor service.
We also consider Ohana and LeCellier (the only 1TS Steakhouse on DDP) over rated-over hyped

Whispering Canyon is a lot of fun. Especially if you're the type of person that enjoys an interactive dining experience. We took my roommate there for her 22nd birthday about five years ago and they made us participate in the pony race (wooden stick ponies that we had to ride around the dining room) because it was her birthday. Good times. The food was pretty good. Nothing outstanding, but plenty of it. WCC is a lot like 50's Prime Time. If you want to be left alone while you're eating, don't go there.

Another good option would be the Cape May buffet at dinner. If they like sea food. DH loved it--I think he went through two buckets of clams before he gave up. He says that he only gave up because he was tired of all the work of opening them up. So he supplemented with all the other options on the buffet.

And a big vote for 50's Prime Time. It was hands down DH's favorite meal of our trip last year (his first). And he recommends the pot roast.

For first timers and newbies I always recommend: 'Ohana, Kona Cafe, Le Cellier, Crystal Palace (breakfast) and Brown Derby.
