I've seen the ice cream nachos mentioned a couple times in this thread now. When they first appeared, they were seasonal for the holidays. Are they available throughout the year now?

Our main, can't live withouts, are the Pomme Frites at Cafe Orleans and some sort of ice cream treat from Ghirardelli. I'm making a list off of this thread though!!

Unfortunately I am not sure, this will be our second time going to DLR and I and my kids have seen many pictures of this yummy looking concoction and we all said that we have to try it when we are there....however, I didn't realize it was a seasonal thing...boo to that because they do really look good.

I've heard you can still ask for them since they should have all the ingredients even if it's not technically offer on the menu. I guess at that point it's up to how nicely you ask and how kind the CM is feeling ;)

In our family, we all have our favorites.
Mine is the peanut butter sandwich from the candy shop.
my daughter has to have a dole whip.
for the ex husband its the Italian salad at Red Rockets (its gone right now, replaced with a star wars salad, but there is one in DCA that looks the same).
I'm honestly not sure about my son. He just eats where ever we go, and never complains or makes requests. He's the easiest to travel with! LOL
We ALL love the cheesecake with raspberries found at various locations, and the
corn dogs from the little red truck on main street.

I love:
*garlic cheese bagel twist from Maurice's (Princess theater area) and/or the strawberry twist.
*loaded baked potato, though I haven't tried them since they moved to Village Haus (I think)
*at Trader Sam's, I LOVE the shrunken zombie head & chicken lettuce wraps. I make a special trip over there for that reason.

I also try to get a bread bowl meal on the last day of my stay with the bread bowl on the side so I can take it with me and have it as a snack on the plane :)

So many options, but my faves are:
1. Fried chicken at Plaza Inn
2. beignets at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen (counter service): I think it's better here than at the Mint Julep bar in DL.
3. Churros

  • With the heat we've been having - they have these apple slushies that are so refreshing - they're my daughter's favorite, while I like the lemonade with raspberry shot in it.
  • Mint Juleps in New Orleans Square.
  • Corn dog from the little red wagon
Where are the apple slushies?

This thread is really a good indicator that the food has gotten much better at the resort in the past few years.
10 years ago there would not have been nearly as much enthusiasm.
Funny though, no one has suggested Capt. Kidds..
Ha, ha, ha! We had a mini staycation last year and considered this restaurant because of its proximity to everything. Then I saw the reviews and DH and I agreed by saying "Heck nooooo!!!":faint::eek::faint::eek::faint:

I had NO idea they had ice cream nachos. They used to have these at the Diamondbacks game and every year my husband and I (okay, mostly me) lament their disappearance. I just sent him an email with the urgency of a toddler demanding a cookie about this news!

My top 3 are:
Matterhorn Macroon from Jolly Holiday
Red's Apple Freeze from the Cozy Cones
Clam Chowder bread bowl

Now I am thinking I need to try the Lobster Nachos though. Do you need an ADR for the Cove Bar?

The potatoes are not at Village Haus. They are at Troubadour Tavern.

The Cove Bar does not accept ADR's. It is first come first served.

1. Beignets from Ralph Brennan's Express at Downtown Disney - they make'em just like they do in New Orleans.
2. Clam chowder bread bowl at Pacific Wharf
3. Hand dipped ice cream bars at Clarabelle's

Now that Big Thunder BBQ is closed, nothing else comes close to these for me.

1. dill popcorn with a pear-o-dice drink from the Cozy Cones
2. pepperoni pizza with a salad fr/2om Whitewater Snacks (kids love this)
3. Chicken/Steak nachos from Whitewater Snacks
4. loved getting the pretzel rod dipped in caramel, rolled in nuts then covered in chocolate, but last visit (Sept 2015) Pooh corner said they were only made in Marcelines and Marcelines said only in Pooh Corner. Basically they were discontinued.
