Top 10 reasons to defeat Bush-A perspective

Richie you are so sensitive. You compared liberalism to communism in your original quote, what are we supposed to think?

Did you know that communism, in it's original pure form wasn't meant to be bad? It's just the leaders that messed it up!

Are you related to Marge Schott?

She's a racist and antisemite isn't she? Have you gone mad? What are you talking about?

A theory of government is different from something that someone used for their own purpose and distorted. Have you ever read any theories about communism?

Fair enough. I can certainly give you the benefit of the doubt. I do have an honest question however. When are we supposed to take you seriously and when are we not supposed to take you seriously when almost every post contains

Richard
It's called "context". I use the ' ' to demonstrate either sarcasm or exasperration...which is pretty much how I'd use it in RT. It shouldn't really be all that difficult to discern between the two (particularly when my statement was as far-fetched as comparing Bush and Hitler because both favored roads being built :hyper: )

she's also describes as chain-smoking, and abrasive....

I can't believe that someone would compare me to her on here....

Thats almost enough for me to put you on ignore....:(

I've never insulted you on here....:(

I don't get the hysteria. There are Communists within the Democratic party, which is just fact. There's nothing inherently evil about this. They believe in having an entirely different kind of society, which a lot of people think is bad, not evil-bad but as in not something they'd want to live in.

Compare this with people who vote according to how their church stands on social issues. It's no worse than that. But personally I'd like to know what kind of agenda is behind the backing of certain candidates, right or left. That never hurts.

"Everybody knows he was good at the beginning, but he just went too far." – Marge Schott on Adolf Hitler, in a 1996 interview.

The Marge Schott comment was not meant to insult you.

To me, that comment is just as ridiculous as the one Marge Schott made in that infamous 1996 interview. Hence the sarcastic Marge Schott question.

As for the ignore option, that's entirely up to you.

Do you think that I should be insulted, or am I am I being overly dramatic?:o

I had to look up Marge Schott, and she sounds like a big jerk. Oh well, no wonder a lot of people have left!:D

Richie,
I am a member of a JCC I would never say that Hitler is good. Can't you tell what the difference is in what I've said? If you apologize I may not put you on ignore.

I would definitely consider the source before I took anything to heart! ::yes::

If what I said offended you, I apologize for offending you. I never meant to compare you to Marge Schott. She was indeed racist and an anti-Semite.

I do not apologize for comparing your statement "Did you know that communism, in it's original pure form wasn't meant to be bad? It's just the leaders that messed it up!" with her statement "Everybody knows he was good at the beginning, but he just went too far." They are basically two sides of the same coin.

Before you put me on ignore, know that at the very least we agree that Hitler was bad. We just don't agree that communism was bad too.

Just one man's opinion.

Richard

"Good Night, Good night! Parting is such sweet sorrow, that I shall say good night till it be morrow."
Shakespeare from Romeo and Juliet Act II Scene II

Maybe you and I are just coming from different perspectives. When I hear communism I think of John Lennon's song "Imagine".

It's kind of hard to explain, but I was just kind of offended because this is the second time on here that someone has compared me to a cranky old lady! I'm just going to get another scanner and put my picture on here so I don't get compared to someone old, obnoxious and miserable.:D it's starting to hurt my feelings wah!

Apology accepted:sunny:

Perhaps you're right. When I hear communism I think of Stalin and the Soviet Union, Fidel Castro and Cuba, Kim Jong Il and North Korea, Walter Ulbricht and East Germany, Mao Tse-tung and China. Each one of them a bastion of basic human rights and freedom.

Just one man's opinion.

Oh, good grief!!!

Hmmmm, maybe I am related to Marge Schott, as Schott was my grandmother's maiden name. She came from Switzerland...wonder where Marge's family came from. :hyper:

I WILL be voting for Bush AGAIN. ::yes:: My DH is primarily a farmer and we are enjoying the BEST crop prices ever. We always have good prices with a Republican in the white house, and the prices drop way, way down when we have a Democrat in there.

Rich, you are proving my point! You named a bunch of horrible leaders. It was the leader that enforced the philosophy that caused all of the problems! Do you not agree? I guess thats what happens when warped people get in positions of power. May it never happen again!:D

Chatty- I'm praying that you aren't a racist and proud of it!;)

Okay, I gave you some of the bad leaders. You give me some good communist leaders?

Well, what I meant was that when you just read about communism without a leader it's not such a bad thing. It's how the leader employs the philosophy. Teejay is much more knowledgable about government systems than I am. Her last post kind of alludes to what I was trying to say.

It's like the word DEMOCRAT is not a dirty word

The word COMMUNISM is not a dirty word

The word REPUBLICAN is not a dirty word

I bet you just like to argue, right?

:p

minnie: No, no, I'm definitely not racist. I have very, very little knowledge of Marge Schott. I have no idea what she said that upset people. Doesn't she own a baseball team or something??
I just rarely see the name Schott, so wondered if we could be related is all. (The coffee pots at work have Schott stamped on the bottom so I wonder about those too  )

I probably shouldn't have even responded to this thread, I just get SO TIRED of all the political "bashing" of the candidates...that was the reason for the rolling eyes. :)

Sorry that I misunderstood you! I had to look her up when RB mentioned her. She sounds like a real gem.

Lol, I always get into trouble when I stay on here too long!:sunny:

I just keep thinking, what the heck kind of impression am I making on this place.

I think that I'm going to take a different dirrection with my posting too.
