To get your teeth whitened at the dentist in the uk it costs around £600 (not sure what that is in dollars)

Has anyone got any idea of how much it costs in Florida ?

If it is quite a bit cheaper then it will be worth waiting until I come over there.

I don't live in Florida but I think it's probably about the same in all states in the US. I have seen it as low as $150.00, and that is most likely the kit you take home and bleach yourself. The dentist makes a mouth tray that is custom fit to your teeth. I have also seen several dentists who offer it free if you let them do an exam and x-ray's on you. To have the lazer tooth whitening, I was told it was about $1,500 and may only last under a year. You can buy the same kits the dentists sell for up to $500.00 on ebay for $30.00. The mouth tray is one size fits all.

I paid $300.00. The dentist made a top and bottom try and I bought the gel to put in them and used it every night for 2 weeks, fisrt the top then the bottom. I love the results once a week I use Crest strips for a follow up to keep them white. I get mor e compliments on my teeth, I now lovw to smile because I am prod of them.:D

The average cost seems to be around $300-$400. My best friend had it done and I believe hers was right at about $350. Her dentist made the molds and then she had mouthpieces she wore at night with gel in them--Nite White is what she used. Turned out great. My DH and I both wanted it done but we weren't willing to pay that kind of money. We did some searching and found a site that sold a kit that you could do yourself complete with customized teeth trays and the bleaching agent of your choice (Opalescence, Nite White, etc). It gave you putty so that you could make impressions of your teeth. I did my DH's and my own impressions, sent them in, got the mouthpieces back, and the NiteWhite worked great :teeth:

My friend is still ticked off that we didn't find that site sooner. We spent about half what she did on our teeth and you can't even tell a difference. My DH is looking through our shutterfly albums right now to try to find a pic of the three of us together to prove it LOL

Sears was running a laser whitening special. I think it was $450.

I have a friend who just used the Crest Whitening strips (the only off the shelf brand her dentist OK's) and it's made a discernable difference on her teeth. Unless yours are really bad, why don't you give that a try first? I'm picking up some at Walmart this weekend to try it.

I don't want the ones you have to take home and do yourself.

I want the one that the dentist does for you in the surgery.

Here in the UK the main one is "Britesmile". It takes about 2 hours to do, but is expensive at £600.

That's laser whitening in the U.S.

I just had Brite Smile done yesterday. Yes It does cost about $600.00; it does take about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. There is no surgery or lazer just a bright light on you teeth for three 20 minute intervals. You can watch TV or a movie which makes the time fly.
It is far superior to any bleaching kit out there. My teeth were very sensitive for about 12 hours, but for me, it was worth it. You can bargin with your dentist at least most people I know have. My sister, her boy friend and many of my friends love it.

Go to www. britesmile.com on the internet. They should be able to give you all the info you need.:teeth:

Good Luck

Do you mind if I ask.....your teeth don't hurt today? I have a few friends and a mother that have contemplated this as well, but they didn't know anyone that had done BriteSmile, so they were a bit leery...they all have very sensitive teeth so I think they are a bit "scared off" by it.

Does anyone know if you can have your teeth whitened if you have bridgwork or crowns?

Pinnie,

Go to your dentist and ask his recommendation. In my case, I have crown and bridge work and although the color seems to blend [no one else notices the difference], I'm going to have some of the crowns replaced in the lighter shade. My girl friend and her husband have veneers on some of their teeth and they will probably have them replaced after BriteSmile. The process can only lighten your teeth; it will not brighten crown ,bridge and veneers. Hope this helps.
