we are going to MK on a sunday in october and am trying to plan a touring strategy (or at least loosely do one). we are going with friends who live locally, and all together our kids are 4, 2, 2, and 1. I haven't been to wdw with kids before (dh and I went several times pre-kids) so toontown has never been part of our day. I think we walked thru it once and quickly hurried onto the train. lol.

anyway, am wondering how long we would likely be in toontown? I don't know if we'll bother with the characters then (we're doing plenty of character meals), but what other stuff is there? I know there is goofy's barnstormer, and a couple of houses to look in. what else? do you think we could be out of there in a half hour? or is that totally unrealistic?

is it too insane to even think about doing after lunch?

They also have a toddler play area with different things to crawl on and through. And a Boat to play on that was being refurbished when we were there last year. The houses are cute. Your 4yr old will get a kick out of them. Be sure you open the refrigerator and turn all the knobs in the kitchen, some neat surprises. The 2 yr olds won't want to leave the toddler play area. I would say ...we spent about an hour in this area last year and the only way we got her out of there was taking the train out!

I think Mickey's Toontown Fair is a great place for the age group you describe. Sounds like your time might be tight, but I wouldn't short Toontown too much. There are many interactive things for the kids to explore in both Mickey and Minnie's houses. Donald's boat is also a great place to let the kids expend some energy and unwind a bit.

For your four year old, Goofy's Barnstormer will be very exciting. Once we talked my 4 y/o niece into trying it, we wound up riding four times in a row at her insistance.

I wouldn't think 30 minutes is anywhere near enough. We spent more than that during our last trip, and didn't even have kids with us.

There is donald house boat and it squirts water when you walk around in it. And there is a little playground (not really disney oriented) just to let little ones run off some energy. Mickey and Minnies house and Barnstormer. Yes that is about it. Doesnt take long to walk thru the houses and depending on the line for barnstormer do you want to do a play ground. We never did when we are at Disney there is so many other things to do. The 2 and 1 yr old will get more in Fantasy Land to look at while sitting on the rides. My opinion but enjoy yourselves in what ever you decide!!!

The little play area by Donald's boat was a hit with our 3, ages 1 1/2, 2 1/2, and 3 1/2. We didn't do much other than that and the Barnstormer and were there about an hour.

Toontown was a lot of fun. My two and one year olds played in the "playground" area for at least 30 minutes, not to mention the houses, the boat, and several trips on the barnstormer (for my two year old). Also, -we didn't plan on it either but - the toontown character area happened to have Snow White and some dwarfs when we were there so we waited (because you can't see SW too many times!). Anyway, we definitely spent more than 30 minutes there.

Also, there is one of those elaborate face painting areas there so if your kids get that done......

Have fun!

make sure they wear clothes which can get wet...the boat squirts; then while they're wet you can go to the interactive fountain in ariel's grotto

Toontown's great! It is one of my favorite areas!

I think we must've spent a good hour there when DS was 7 or 8. We still make him pose for the fireplace picture!

For us, the character greet was terrific! We were last in line & Mickey took about 10 minutes with Patrick.

Yep, we make Patrick, now 17, pose for that one, too! :teeth:

He humours us a lot! :thumbsup2

We usually spend about an hour there. That is being there in the morning and doing Donalds, Barnstormer and Meet and Greet with Mickey and Minnie.
