Toontown Question

We're grandparents and Toontown wasn't around when our DS's were small. However, whenever we've walked through that area and tried to see characters the lines seem over the limit for children's patience.

We'll be with DGC ages 1, 2 and 3, and we're going in August. There will be 5-6 adults with the children and we're all eager to help out. Is there a "best" way to "do" Toontown, or should we just skip it until the children are a bit older?

Get there at opening. Make it the first stop you do.

Get there at park opening and ride the train around to the back. A little area is open for the kids to play in until Toontown opens at around 9 (after the characters get back from breakfast). Note, this also puts you at the start of the toon townfair tent. It saves you from running up the hill with all the people trying to enter from the front of the park. I would get in the Princess line first, then classic characters, then Pooh. This is the rate they usually fill up in. We did this with our 18 month old and we had all sigs in under an hour.

Generally, Toontown does not open until 10:00 am... 1 hour after regular park opening. So, if you were to get there for park opening.. you could actually get a few things done in fantasyland first.. or over in tomorrowland. and then walk over to Toontown.. the back way... take the path that is near Space Mountain.... it goes behind the raceway... that leaves you in the same place as the train.. Just make sure you are there by 9:45... then you are there when they drop the rope and the characters walk with the children into the tent for autographs and the lines are nill! Have fun!

We've never really waited that long. I think that the lines are deceiving. Maybe try one line and see how they do. They might surprise you.

We have had good luck at the opening. Also, we were in Toontown one night while others were at Spectromagic. There were no lines for Mickey. I was suprised that he was still arond during the parade.
