Anyone been there recently? Do they actually sell gags or is it just typical Disney souvenirs? My son *loves* to play toontown.com and cannot wait to go to Toontown on our upcoming trip. I told him that there are not any Cogs roaming around, but he is still hopeful. ;)

I would love to be able to buy him a gag of some sort while there - like a squirting flower, etc.

Thanks!

I was there in June and looked around for a few minutes. I don't remember really seeing anything all that special and felt a little disappointed. But I wasn't looking for squirting flowers. :rotfl: There is that magic shop on Main Street if it is still there. I heard rumors of something happening to it, but I think it is still there. They had joke things like that. For some reason, when DH and I went when we were in our 20s he bought a mirror there that laughs when you pick it up. For some reason he just found it very funny. I thought the very bad English on the package was funnier. :)

All magic tricks have been taken out of the Magic Shop, if it is even still open.

Nope, no cogs and no gags in Toontown. My family plays Toontown also and there is not any of the things from the Toontown game in Toontown at Disneyland...... well, he might see Mickey walking around!

Somewhere I read they are looking for a third party to take it over ( the magic shop on main st.) maybe the ocregister? :confused3 can't recall.

I have never seen anything special in the toontown store either. Just the same stuff, but the store is cute with a bunch of toonish things hanging all over the ceiling :)

Is there a trolley that goes through? We saw one on a youtube video, but it might be gone now. He did like the hills with toontown on them, and just to see the buildings, like city hall. I wish that they had a little section somewhere for players of the game. Perhaps where you could buy trading cards. Do you know if they sell trading cards anywhere at the park? Or is there a nice toontown pin?

Thanks so much for your help and responses! Too funny about the mirror Pinkbudgie! I wish they still had them in the Magic Shop!

There is a trolley but it wasn't out when we were there and I was wondering if they don't bring it out if it is crowded. The buildings are great and have a lot of interactive stuff to do with them. Good photo ops and lots to see.

We have never seen the trolley opperating (well, actually once 8 years ago or so), but it is usually just sitting there in the middle of the road on the track. The kids always climb on it.

I am so sad about the magic shop. My oldest spent many hours in there, watching and learning, and of course spending. It has such tradition. I can't believe it was not profitable as it was always packed.

The reason the magic shop has changed is that they were experiencing problems with their distributor. I think it may have went out of business. For the current moment they have filled the magic shop with Disney items. Supposedly, this is only temporary until they can procure more gag/magic items from another distributor.
