I thought I read somewhere that Toontown opens an hour after the park opens, but now I can't find it. Does anyone know if this is always true? (I guess what I really want to know is if it will be true next week!)

Also, do you think it's worth being there right when it opens to meet the characters or is that time better used riding other rides while the park isn't too full? I had also read several places that that is the best time to see the characters, but when we tried that at AK on the last trip (early December, no less!), it still took at least 15 minutes to see one character (since we didn't sprint to the line, I guess) and then HUGE lines if we wanted to see a 2nd one or more. My son says he really wants to hug Mickey, and our character meal isn't until the last day...

Thanks!

We were there in mid March and they opened at 10am. We opened MK and rode a few rides before heading to wait in a small crowd to go into Toontown. We got there about 15 minutes before it opened actually. We walked straight to the tent with the characters and got in the princess line. We only needed the princesses but it was an indoor wait and fairly quick! By the time we came out of that line...families were out the door waiting. :confused3 I would also imagine if you went right before meal times it wouldn't be too bad.

Our best place we caught Mickey was in Epcot in the Character Connection. We were able to get Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Chip and Dale with no wait time. That was mid-morning.

I never noticed if it opens later to tell the truth. We always seem to get caught up in Fantasyland first and then move to Toontown. But now that I think of it, I might have heard a while back that it does opens later. I'd definitely think that the sooner you get there, the better your chances are of seeing multiple characters and getting on the rides there with little wait.

We have done it both ways. It is true that the characters are there waiting. I would however suggest you take the train from Main Street around to Toontown. It is faster (and more fun) than walking. However, this time of year with the heat, I would actually do rides first. I would head to Fantasyland and hit the ride that require you to stand in the heat like Dumbo or Peter Pan. Later you can go to Toontown. You might have to stand in line but at least it will be in air conditioned comfort.

Toontown has opened at 10 each time we wer there. It is ok. I guess Mickey';s house is worth the walk through. My kids 6&8 like the goofey coaster.

Every time I have been there cinderella and prince charming have been in the Judges tent that i sworth the wait.

We were there 2 weeks ago. Toon Town opened at 10am. There was a crowd waiting to get in. We went to see Minnie first and then Mickey. Short wait times for each. Next we went to see the Princesses. It was about a 15 minute wait but Daisy, Chip, and Dale were hanging out so we got autographs and pictures to pass the time.

We stumbled on the Toontown characters by accident. We rode some rides in Fantasyland for a bit, then got in line 15 minutes before it opened. Went straight to the princess line and still had a wait of 15 or 20 minutes before we got in to the princesses. In my opinion, it was COMPLETELY worth the wait to see THREE princesses. They are, after all, hard to find elsewhere. Or at least more expensive to find. :-) We were able to get to Mickey, Minnie, et al at AK and MGM, so this was less important to us. But the princesses were priceless.

Thank you! This is all helpful. Luckily (?) I have a little boy with no interest in seeing princesses (or any face characters, for that matter), but maybe we'll try to hit Dumbo and Pooh a few times and then head to Toontown to see Mickey. We're also taking him on Barnstormer this trip.

 Leave it to me to not pay attention to the son thing. lol Then I would definitely go before it opens and then head straight to Mickey~

**OT** I see you are from Atlanta...I am heading your way on 5/22 to see the Braves play. So can't wait!!
