I have a small (3' x 4' or thereabouts) piece of white plastic lattice from the garden center. I need to cut a wedge out of it so it will fit where I want to place it. What type of saw would be best to do that with?

I have one handheld that is rather small, with a small blade that goes up and down (as opposed to circular or band or scroll saw). Would that be strong enough to cut it, or do I need to bring the circular from my mom's?

I don't think the circular would be needed, Tammi. The other sounds like a jigsaw. If you have a method of holding the piece secure (careful of those fingers) I would think that would suffice fine. Are you trying to cut a piece OUT of it or a piece FROM it, just making it smaller?

Would recommend a hack saw( hand saw to cut metal) if you've got it, the jig saw will work if it has a fine enough tooth, the coarser saw blade might break the plastic hun.

Jigsaw! That's it. I was stuck on "scroll saw" and knew that wasn't it. :p

I do have two ways to hold it steady -- sawhorses, and two friends who are on their way over to watch Survivor (which I just finished recording). I *thought* the jigsaw would do it, but wanted someone else's opinion. :)

All I want to do is cut about 2 inches worth of plastic. Basically, where the lattice makes a V at one edge, I want to cut one of the V's off. So it won't take much. :)

Hack saw I don't have. That was the first thing I looked for and I *thought* we had one, but I can't find it.
