I finally decided on the Poly. With our 4 year old DS, I imagine we will be spending lots of time at the MK.

Now that I am shelling out the big bucks, please tell me that we will enjoy ourselfs. My DW and I walked around the Poly last year, and we both really liked what we saw.

The best thing is that she doesn't know this yet...and she won't until we get there.:hyper:

This was really and upgrade for her, as my son could probably care less.

Oh,how sweet of you to do this for your DW!

I hope you got a good rate.... AP, AAA, or rack?
i know, anyway you look at it, it's money, that's for sure!

Either way, the Poly is wonderful and you're wonderful to book such a trip for your wife!

Have a magical trip!

We absolutely LOVE the Poly!! It's our favorite Disney resort when we are not staying at one of our DVC villas. For me it says "DisneyWorld". Love everything about it, walking around, the tiki torches, the beach, the rooms, etc. etc. etc. It gives me a little taste of a tropical island!! Hope you like it as much as we do!!!

Have a Wonderful Vacation and Aloha!!

The Polynesian Resort and "Heaven on Earth" go hand in hand!!!!:teeth: You will have a FABULOUS time, I'm sure of it!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

What a nice surprise for your wife!
We stayed there for the first time this past October.
It was great. Nice grounds, pools, views, and restaurants.
I just booked it again for a couple of nights in addition to our DVC vacation in February.
Have a great trip!

You will have a wonderful time at the poly. You DS will enjoy the volcano pool. To sit on the beach at night and watch the fireworks and water parade is a real treat. Also the convenience of the monorail to MK really beats the bus. Enjoy. :D

Just rack rate for now BambiTamby. Although I did talk to a CM today who, when I asked for codes, said "it sould be any day now"

Great choice! Your DW will love it and so will you and your son! It has become our favorite resort and we will not stay anywhere else. Your son will love the pool. The rooms are huge, the overall theme relaxing, the restaurants great, and the location, perfect! We are going to be there around the same time as you by your counter!

This thread makes me feel really good. :D
Just this morning I told DH that I'm thinking of booking us at the Poly for our next vacation. We were thinking of CBR but the Poly is my dream resort and were not going until next summer ('05) so I can make payments over the next year. I think we'll love it. We have 2 DD's they will be 14 almost 15 and 5 at the time. Will they like it?

We're leaving in 11 days for our first Poly trip. This thread has gotten me even more excited if that's possible.

I just can't wait much longer - we're about to bust.

Visit Tikiman's website - it's the best.

We stayed at the Poly for our DS4's first time to WDW last October. In all honesty, I don't think your DS4 will care where you stay, but Mom and Dad certainly will, and the Poly is a great choice for the adults. Since I was in the same position as you with a DS4, I will give you some of my thoughts about the Poly.
The Poly is a great location due to the monorail (only one stop away from the MK). Your DS4 will enjoy the movies in the lobby while you're checking in and the warm cookies they give out. The pool is very impressive, but for your DS4, it may be too intimidating. (We put our son through swim school so he would be confident to use the slide, which he must be able to do by himself; but, once he saw it he said, No Way, and my husband seemed to agree that it would probably have been too scary for him as part of it is enclosed.) The beach is an added draw, as well as the water mice (they don't go very fast, but fast enough for a 4yr old to enjoy!), and the fries at Captain Cook's are the best in all of WDW (in my humble opinion, and that of our DS4).

Of the three monorail resorts, the Poly is the best in my opinion for young ones (I have not stayed at the other two--only toured them--so this opinion is kind of limited.)

Hope you enjoy as much as we did!

Burleygirl-I had to smile when you said the 4 y/o probably won't care where you stay. Wrong! For us anyway. My DD who is 4 has been to WDW 7 times so far. She has stayed at CBR, the WL, and the last 4 times at the Poly. The first thing she asks when she hears we are going back is if we are staying at the Poly. It is her favorite resort. DH kidded her the other night and told her she was staying at the All Stars and she had a hissy fit. Mind you she has never seen the All Stars but she knew it wasn't the Poly. Her favorite things about the Poly are the volcano pool, the kiddie strawberry dacquiris, the beach, and the view of the castle. Nothing compares to the Poly in her eyes and mine as well! LOL!

You will love the Poly! To my family it was like our WDW home when I was growing up! We are planning this huge family trip next summer ('05) and I keep trying to pester my parents to switch from a 2 bedroom villa at BCV to several rooms at the Poly.

Gette88 - Your teenage daughters will love it. I did, when I was their age. Since it's on the monorail, it's really easy for them to pop over to MK if they want to (if you let them, of course). They can also lay out on the beach and perfect their tans!
