DH and I did a quick one night trip this weekend. I did a review of the hotel under the reviews board, so I won't drop it here. Hilton Lake Buena Vista; was great to walk to DS from there.
Dinner at The Edison (grilled cheese was amazing); did some shopping.
The reason for posting, is our breakfast the next day. We wanted to try some local place, and ended up being directed to FK Your Diet. It's run by a guy who has fostered kids, and who continues to support foster kid programs with his restaurants (which is what the FK stands for, lol). It's off the beaten path, about 20 minutes from DS, so you would need a car.
Service was good, very laid back staff; they joked with DH about him not eating all his food (you'll read why in a minute); and the owner touched tables several times; and when I say laid back, they were all wearing gym/workout/relaxing about the house shorts. The decor was neon...think 80s bowling alley. Neon pink/orange/yellow/green. They do have a bar, but we didn't partake (at 8am on Sunday).

The coffee...was bad. It's my newest measurement for bad coffee. They make 'donuts', that are griddled, and then they put whatever flavor you want on it (chocolate, lemon, etc). Don't get the lemon; DH liked it, and the donut itself (made of biscuit dough, I think), was good, but the lemon had the floor cleaner scent and I couldn't get past it.
But the corned beef hash was the best I have ever had. Ever. Came with 3 eggs and toast, and I couldn't eat but half. Dh had their "Belly Buster Burrito" with chorizo. It was listed at 1 lb of food...it was easily 5 lbs. It was a 14" burrito that was just laid over the top; there was no way it would have wrapped all that food. Now, DH did add onion/mushroom/tomato/pepper...but it was at least 6 eggs and 2 lb of potatoes in this thing; and it was really good as well. The server gave DH a little ribbing about not eating but 1/3 of it, and asked if he needed to carry DH to the car. (DH is 6'4" and 250, solid shoulders....this server was at least 6'6" and 325; DH says he doesn't often meet people who make him feel small, but this kid did!)

(That is NOT a perspective shot...that plate was DH's shoulder width....that is a MASSIVE amount of food)
They offer a way to donate. You can buy shirts; you can buy a meal for a foster family (which is what we did, $50) or you can donate a certain amount.
Anyways, Just thought I'd throw out this out, in case someone is looking for a massive breakfast. Just don't get the coffee....
