I am planning to take our family to WDW in fall of 2008. We are hoping to stay at Poly or POFQ depending on budget. Trying to stay loose with planning but want to make reservations as soon as possible and make sure that we get a couple of character meals in. How soon can we book the trip and would we benefit (discount) if we wait? Also how soon can you reserve charcter meals?

This will be my first time at WDW.

Thanks::cop:

I'm starting to plan for an August 2008 trip myself. You can book room only reservations right now. You won't be able to book packages (room/tickets/dining) until the 2008 rates come out, which will be sometime this summer. You can't make advanced dining reservations until 180 before the start of your trip.

I don't know about you, but all this waiting is killing me!!!!

Have fun and welcome to DIS!!

Hi. Just wanted to give you a little advice. Print out all the 2007 calendars of the months you are going. Save them for next year. Disney won't give you park hours until 7 months out. They may help in your planning.

Hours may be different next year, but at least you will have some idea!!

As far as booking the trip itself, Disney allows you to book your trip 500 days in advance. You can call them and they will give you the actual date you can book. I was at one point looking at November 2008 and the CM told me I would be able to book in July 07 for that trip. Call them and the will give you the date.
