Greetings Everyone: I'm seeking some advice and opinions. My family took a trip to WDW over Labor Day weekend. It was a great trip, but too short - 3 parks in 3 days. We did not make it to Animal Kingdom. I was considering scheduling another trip for April during my DD7's break from school. This would be another short trip, and we would just go to Animal Kingdom and do some relaxing. My wife and I will certainly need the break by then, and could use a dose of warm weather. However, I'm concerned that this trip may be too much, too soon. I don't want to overindulge the girls or spoil them - even though the trip will be as much (or more) for us as them. They will be 8 and 4 by April 2006. What do you think?

Thanks

Is there such a thing as too much mickey? :earboy2: Ok, I will admit that my kids will probably be spoiled on Disney because I am addicted myself (Is there a twelve step program I can sign up for?) Anyway, I don't see the harm in frequent family outings whether they are at Disney or someplace else. Your kids will cherish these memories for years to come. :)

Well, I never thought I would say this...but, there can be too much Disney! I have been in Aug '04 for 9 nights, again for Thanksgiving for 5 nights, June for 8 nights and then in Aug for 5 nights. By about mid-trip in June, my dd and I decided it was time to take a WDW break, we had been too often. But, by early Aug. there I was, making reservations for a quickie 5 night stay for the two of us!!! And, I'm going back, by myself, late Nov for 5 nights. So......I guess you can do too much WDW, but if you just take it easy, and stop to smell the roses, so to speak, you should have a great time. I think going twice a year for 6 nights each time is perfect.

Naw, go ahead and plan away! I don't think sort stays here and there could over-do it. Now, if you were thinking of two weeks at a time, I'd say you may get a little moused-out. I recomend never skipping Animal Kingdom in the future, but I'm a bit biased as this is my favorite park!

No such thing! Right now, I am planning 3 or 4 nights in December, 4 nights in January, 5 nights in February and a week in May. Plus, we just got home from a week on Saturday! Enjoy! No trip is ever the same as another.

If anyone in your family decides they have had too much Disney, you can take ME instead!!!!! :Pinkbounc :rotfl:

Being a teen myself, I don't think there's such a thing as too much Disney! We go about two or three times a year, and for an average of five or six days apiece. Knowing that another WDW trip is coming up just boosts our (mine, my 11-year-old sister, and 8- and 5-year old brother) energy. It even improves our grades somewhat, because Mom and Dad always threaten to leave us behind. Memories made in Disney World will stick, and personally, I don't think there's anything that should get in the way of having experiences that can be cherished for life. Life is short, and I think everyone should enjoy it! Taking kids out of school too frequently can pose a problem, but a little relief from the everyday-stress is always welcome, I'm sure.

I would never call my child spoiled, I would however say that she is now & will in the future live a very privilaged life.
DH & I work very hard, DH often working more than 50+ hours a week, on call & call out in the middle of dinner & last week at 3am two days in a row. I like to goto Disney just as much for me as for her, while she has a great time, it is a joy for me to see her excitement. We will go twice a year, the trip in Feb was supposed to be DD & I & friends, the friends backed out & I was planning to go just DD & I. Now DH is going too.
Our DD is only 2 but she is by no means a bratty or spoiled kid, she doesnt get much in the way of toys unless they are learning or role playing (kitchen, grocery store, babies, dress up) types. I think the kid that expects you to take them to Disney, is the kid that has possibly been a few too many times.

The idea of just enjoying AK and relaxing is wonderful! Commando Disney often detracts from the fun. I think a short trip with limited activities sounds perfect for your family. Don't worry about spoiling your children unless it's too many treats or toys! Never skimp on their experiences and time with you!

We go to WDW usually 5-6 times a year. It is still just as magical as the first. In Septmeber, we returned from our 28th trip and we still did several new things. I like it and it is memories that you are making with your daughter. Those times that you spend as a family...making magic....are priceless. Have a great trip!

Repeat after me..."There is no such thing as too much WDW".

Believe it or not, lots of folks don't go to the parks each day they stay @ WDW; but enjoy the resort amenities & use it as a central base for touring other FL attractions.

Of course, you may start visiting so often you'll purchase AP's, then there's no turning back.LOL

JMO, there's a big difference between rewarding your children with nice trips & things versus "spoiling" them. Good Luck.

I don't think that there is such a thing as "too much Disney." If we could afford it, we'd be making many more trips!

Your kids are only kids once. They grow so quickly. Take them and enjoy! The family memories you can make there are priceless.

There is so much to do at Disney that you could never fit everything into one trip. You could also stay at a different resort each time, and eat at different restaurants each time, and that way you'd get a variety of vacation experiences at Disney.

There can never be to much Walt Disney World! :earsgirl:

You never know what life may bring you--you should cherish each and everyday you and your family spend together...and what better place than WDW! Every trip is different and special...plus everyone needs a few days w/o stress now and then! :teeth:

As for spoiling your kids...I have been there more than 25 times! I work long days and nights, work very hard, and sacrifice lots of family time. I believe Disney is a reward for working so hard, and my kids don't mind either! :teeth:

In the end...it's about what you and your family want to do.
Remember: :listen: MEMORIES LAST FOREVER!

If you go, have a magical time! :wizard:
