Too late to request room location?

We leave in 12 days!! I have not requested a specific room location at the Beach Club and was just going to "wing it" and now I'm worried I'll get a bad location with no balcony and be disappointed! Should I call now to make a request, or just ask at check-in at this point? How often do you get your request at check in?

If you have something special in mind( like a full size balcony) call now have it added to your ressie, and politely re-mention it at check-in.The room assignors look on the ressies for special requests.So it is always good to have it noted on the ressie

I was told on my last trip (by the CM at check in) that you can call 8 or 9 days ahead to your specific resort and add a request. The reservations go from the main computer to the resorts 10 or 11 days in advance.

Very true since all you can do is ask, but if you do not ask at all then you really don't have a request.

Previously this may have been true, but since all resort calls are now directed to a central call center, it's not normally possible to contact the resort front desk (or otherwise) without physically being at the desk.

Reservations are loaded at the resort level approximately seven days prior to your arrival. To have the best shot of getting a room with your requests, make those requests to central reservations ahead of that seven day point. Beyond that, it never hurts to ask at the front desk when you arrive about your requests... sometimes a better room than what you may have been pre-assigned may become available.

FYI, we usually book Yacht Club because Beach Club does not have many full size balconies...

You can fax the resort directly and put the attention to: room assignors, we usually do this 3 days prior to check in.
