Hi! Hubby just told me tonight that he has to be in Orlando mid July so we will be stopping by WDW of course! Normally I plan about a year ahead and have no problems. So my question is, is it impossible to get ADR's this late? Never even tried to call this late so I have no idea.

Anyone have experience with making late ADR's?? Is my only hope to call when we get there? Or check at Guests Relations every morning???

Off the top of my head.....Looking at the following...

Lunch at Le Cellier
Dinner at Ohana's
Lunch at Crystal Palace
Lunch at 50's Prime Time
Perhaps a Chef Mickey's Dinner

Any thoughts??

The only people that truly know work at Disney Dining but my guess is that you're going to be hard pressed to get any of the spots you mentioned since they are some of the top places at WDW. I know that LeCellier is booked through August already, though you might snag a cancellation.

Call in the morning and find out what there is. You can always call back periodically and check with your hotel guest services once you're there.

Go for it!! My husband and I are going July 17-22, and while we initially made our ADRs in February-March, we decided last week that we did not want an ADR for our first night there because we wanted to be able to enjoy AK longer and not have to rush off for dinner. So I called last night, unsure of what I would find. I canceled two 8pm reservations for July 17 (Spoodles and Maya Grill) and was able to book Tonys Town Square for lunch on July 18. On the 18th, I had a 5pm reservation at Grand Floridian Cafe, and I was able to get that for 7:20 instead.

These are probably not the most popular choices, so I'm not sure my information will be helpful, but as of yesterday, there was still places open! We also have LeCellier, Mama Melrose (fantasmic), and Chef Mickeys booked.

I don't think it is too late. We just booked 50's Prime Time Cafe, Coral Reef, Sci Fi, Hoop-De-Doo, Liberty Tavern and Restaurantosaurus for July 3rd-9th. They are all for evening meals...50's Prime Time and Coral Reef we just booked today and the others we booked last week.

Good luck!!

Melissa

I just switched around some of my ADRs.. and I'm going on July 8th.
You might get some of those.

I just switched some of my reservations - going July 12-23 for our Disney portion of the trip. The ones you might have trouble with are LeCellier and Chef Mickeys. Maybe try some of the less popular places such as Grand Floridian Cafe, Concourse Steakhouse or Restaurant Marrakesh. We've been to all three of these places and really like them and they are usually not to hard to get ADRs for, even if you are calling realtively late. Good Luck!

You never know! Just call Disney Dining, be flexible with your dining times and you may find yourself sprinkled with Pixie Dust! pixiedust:

Please post as I'm curious to know if you lucked out! I hope you do get lucky!!!!

Have a great trip!

I don't think you'll have too much of a problem if you do them right away. If you wait till you get closer you definately will. When I was in WDW I had trouble moving some around when we ended up changing our plans to go to the shuttle launch. We didn't end up getting to do Ohana's. But- I guess that's the price we paid to see the launch. I say go for it! Good luck!

Thanks for all the responses!!

Unfortunately I cannot book anything right now as the trip is not set in stone yet. Hubby still has to arrange for all business parties to come together and that may take some fancy manoeuvering. Until we know for sure it's happening, I can't book plane tickets or accommodations or ADR's for that matter.

Our schedule will be really flexible so that will make it easier but if we go, I do not want to miss Le Cellier, it was our fave meal last trip.

I will let you all know how it goes. If we end up going I will be doing a live trip report again from Disney on the TR board.

Thanks for sharing all your experiences!

We're going the 13th - 17th of July. I just called this week and got ADRs at all the places we wanted to go - Jiko, Flying Fish, Marrakesh, and Le Cellier. We are flexible on times, which may have helped some. On previous WDW trips we have usually made reservations in the morning for that night's dinner, but we have never been in the summer before. I got worried after reading people's experiences here, so I was glad it worked out.

Why wait for things to be set? We made all of our dining reservations before we were 100% sure we could go since we were waiting on work to okay our vacation time. You don't need to have anything booked to make a reservation, esp if there are places you want to really eat at. Just a date is all you need! You can always cancel them if you end up not going.

I would suspect that your best bet is to call WDW and see. No one here can tell for certain what you might be able to do. But I would call right now. Today. ASAP. The quicker the better. Post haste. Don't wait around to see what us posters say. As they say on the TV ads ... "CALL NOW!" Quick!

Enjoy.
