Too late for loop request?

We check in to FW Cabin on Saturday June 9 and check out Saturday June 16. Is it too late to request a specific loop?

We are a family of 6, have nearly-three-year-old twin toddlers in addition to two teens. A good part of the week DH will be staying behind at the cabin with the twin toddlers, so accessibility to the pool and other activities would be really beneficial. I have read 2500 or 2600 loop are good choices to be close to pool and bus stop? Are there any other specific loops that are better for families with small children?

We haven't rented a golf cart and not sure if that is a mistake. Toting the toddlers a long distance is not our preference and on the days we bring them to the parks we prefer renting a stroller in the parks as opposed to lugging our own, so we wouldn't have one to push them around FW.

We are driving to WDW so we will have our van. I have read/heard it sometimes makes more sense to drive to certain parks (other than MK) than to take Disney transportation. Any thoughts on this?

Did we blow it by not requesting a specific loop months ahead or renting a golf cart well in advance if we decide we need one? Any input/advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

They say to Fax a request about 5 days out before you arrive as thats when they usually assign your location... I dont think asking several months out when you make a reservation will hurt you, thats what we do and usually been given the loop we ask for...

You can also call Disney and have them add the request to your reservation. That's how we have done it in the past and have always gotten our preference, though it is not guaranteed. Call the resort 5 days out or so and remind them, have them double check the ressie to ensure the request is on there.

You can also ask when you get to the check-in desk. Never to late to ask. Disney is very good about filling requests even at the last minute.
Enjoy the campground.

Thanks, everyone, for the feedback! I am happy and relieved to hear it may not be too late to put in a request.

Anyone have any recommendations for families with small children besides 2500 or 2600 loops?

Thanks!

The last time we rented a golf cart there were people that just walked up and there were some for rent. We spend most of our time in the parks so it was kind of a waste for us. One thing I would suggest is to bring your own stroller. We had two soon to be 5 YO's and I don't know what we would have dune with out the strollers. We took a single and a double.

we have never gotten our request! Our last stay at the cabins (we had3 cabins so maybe thats why) we requested a cabin near the front d/t we had a 8month pregnant woman with us. We were put at the very back of a very long loop. We always trvel in the summer though. I know its busy. Done the cabins with infants and toddlers. We have never had a golf cart but I would definately bring my own stroller. You didnt say how old they were, but mine were much more comfy in their own stroller, and its easier to take your own drinks, snacks, diaper bag etc. next year will be my first trip in many years without a stroller, and I will miss it. We drive to all the parks except mk. easier, and faster. MAybe with a golf cart we wouldnt.

We have in the past checked in and then asked for a different site, they tell you to pick a few empty sites that you would like and they will tell you if it is available. We would look at a couple different sites in different loops
We have done this during our trips at the end of December, so even when its busy we have found empty sites.
Our last trip we stayed in the 1600 loop, and while our site backed up to the road, it was nice because it gave us quick access to the pool (right across the road) and to getting around The Fort, and traffic noise was really minimal. Also there were two comfort stations within a short walk. oh yeah, we had oranges growing on the trees around our site which was really cool, made some fresh orange juice, not something we can do NJ!
