Too hot for capris?

Leaving for the magic in a week  I'm not terribly comfortable with showing off the thighs....is it too hot for capris all day? How about just at night?

If they are light material you might be OK but shorts would be better. I used to worry about my thighs but got over it. Comfort is more important. Believe me, you will see it all there and no one cares.

I wear capris everyday that I am at the parks. They are very lightweight and I am still hot, but I think I would be just as hot in shorts too! It is HOT and HUMID right now down here!

But personally, I am more "comfy" not showing off my legs! :rotfl:

I have seen people in JEANS and long sleeve shirts!(Yes, this was last night at the MK last night!) And I have seen teeny tiny shorts too!

Wear what you feel most comfortable in! Who cares what you look like--chances are you will never see these people again!

Have a great trip!

Capris would be too hot for me, but if you feel better in them go for it. Maybe you could pick up some of the longer Bermuda shorts that are popular right now, they would be shorter than capris but would cover more. I know what you mean about the thighs, mine are not quite as firm as they used to be, BUT at WDW there aren't many supermodels! And no one will be paying attention, we are all looking forward to having fun!

Old Navy has some really cute and comfortable bermuda shorts that come all the way down to your knees.

You know what is the coolest thing that is "in" right now are the flouncy peasant skirts-- not the ankle length ones but the ones that come to the knee. Flowy, comfortable, flattering, thigh covering! Feels great, and keeps the air flowing better than capris or shorts.

I think it depends on each person. I wore capris the whole time in March because I was too cold to put on my shorts. In the summer I usually wear shorts, I feel more comfy now in the longer ones! I think if the material is not too heavy you will be fine in capris. Why not bring some of each and decide when you get there.

Have Fun!!

I was there the beginning of June and packed a whole bunch of capri's 'cause no way I was showing these thighs in public. Well, when the weather got in the 90's, on went the shorts. I'd wear shorts...

I have a pair of lightweight "sheet" cotton capri's that I wear to the parks. I also have a nice pair of black linen ones. Granted, this was in March when it was only about 80 degrees each day, but I'll wear them in September for our next trip.

I do wear long sleeved shirts in the parks, because I have a sunblock allergy and need to keep covered. I'm hot, sure, but I'd rather be a little warm than painfully burned.

I know you are all right -- hopefully noone will be looking at my thighs, especially when we're toe to toe in all those lines :crowded: ! I tend to overpack (even thou I end up wearing the same 3 things over and over and over) and thought I should choose which I'll be in more often. I guess I'll just be conservative and do 3 of each plus 1 nicer pair of capris. Maybe I can wear the shorts all day and switch to capris at night (or is that disgusting hot as well) since I always feel fresher in a new set of clothes.

Thanks! ;)

I always used to hate wearing shorts because I hated showing my legs. But when you think about it, 99.9999999% of these people you are never going to see again. And I'm sure they're not going to remember the legs of some random person they saw. :teeth: So I would say to just be comfortable and wear shorts. :)

I just bought a nice comfy pair of Mix It cropped capris at JC Penney. They were on sale for $17.99. You can also check Old Navy.

I agree. I usually save capris for less humid nights and shorts in the day. When I have gone in the summer, I end up wearing shorts day and night. Its just too hot and humid and no matter what type of fabric, you will feel hotter with capris sticking to your legs than with your legs bare. Be comfortable and cooler, wear shorts! :)

Last july ... i wore my lightwight capri yoga style pants. its was hot but i dont think being in shorts would have been any cooler.

capris were more comfortable for me coz i dont like to sit on hot-sticky-slick-with-someone-else's-sweat-plastic seats ... also no chaffing.

just my thoughts on the subject
most days we're out of the parks and back to the pool by 12noon anyway

:fish:

I wore capris the whole time in March because I was too cold to put on my shorts.

I was there in March and only put long trousers on once, capris a couple of times and mostly shorts, from just above the knee to...er...shorter than that! I'm sort of average (in other words could do with losing a stone!) and believe me I didn't feel selfconcious, even though I wouldn't walk around in shorts all the time at home (not unless its 80 degrees or over).

You're not at work, you're unlikely to see anyone who knows you, and whatever your size you're going to see someone who looks worse than you (at one extreme or another).

Go with what you'd wear if you were spending the day in your own garden (and have plastic furniture) :teeth:
