Too early for an EM?

Usually you will call and they will have a Sales Manager call you back. Once you are under contract, you will be assigned a Wedding Planner and go from there. As far as I know, you are not able to discuss anything with a Wedding Planner until you are under contract.

I think it depends on if you're having a Custom or an Intimate. We had an Intimate and we spoke to sales with initial questions but we weren't assigned an EM until we booked our hotel stay and even then it took about a month for her to contact me.

BTW, I have a niece named Ayden :)

Thanks! Boy they make it really hard to do anything don't they? :rotfl:

The reason they have you talking to a Sales Manager is because the wedding planners are SO incredibly busy with brides that are already having their weddings within the next couple of months. It's hard enough for them to plan a couple detailed weddings- let alone have to talk to more people. That's why there are Sales Managers.

On the front end (i.e. not booked yet), it may seem nerve-racking, but I can tell you that looking back, they have everything under control and they can put a lot together in a short amount of time.

Yes as others have said hey do like to make you wait lol! We are planning a June 2007 wedding since last August. We called then and they told us to call back in Jan/Feb. We just called back a couple of weeks ago and set a site visit for next weekend. They told us we will get an EM then but if it were any later ie July or August they could not assign us and EM or even do an official site visit. SO...that's my story but it seems to vary from person to person. but i am assuming they will assign an Em at the 1year & 5-4 month mark so you can get acclimated before signing a contract but not really too much before that? Good Luck.

I know, I'm just antsy. I planned my wedding in 4 months, I'd rather not plan the VR in that time frame. Ya know? I just need to stop worrying! lol

I know what you mean...I feel like I have been planning for ever but next week is the first time i actually get to meet with someopne, see sites and discuss the wedding. They say 2 months of planning at Disney is like a year of planning somewhere else. Once you get the contract signed it's like a locomotive...so I have heard. Good Luck.

I can say that once you get in contact with Disney and sign that contract the planning goes really quick.....how is one day for you? We went down for our Ps in Novemeber and planned the entire day from start to finish in 6 hours!!

Of course there are little things like the ceremony music to handle but its all done.

I spoke to a sales manager, Monday. They are very diligent and we covered a lot, as far as our plans are concerned and questions I had. I'm just wondering if they would accept payment for 50% of our total costs (when they accept the $1K deposit). I just want to get as much of the costs out of the way, as fast as possible. Also, I was told because we are planning our wedding, during the Memorial Day weekend, the minimum would be $20K, eventhough, the day we want is a Sunday (This is for May 27, 2007). That's okay because I am budgeting $25K for 31 people.

They will not deny your money! Just let them know you plan on paying in increments and they will adjust your contract to reflect that, most likely!
