Tony's Town Square

We also liked Tony's. As other posters have said, it doesn't get very good reviews here on the boards, which honestly made me hesitant to make an ADR there, but we went in the fall of 2009 and really enjoyed it. We'll definitely go back, plus you can't beat the location! :thumbsup2

Its has gotten alot of negative press but we tried it the first time last August. It was really good. The place was very nice inside, we were seated in the sun room by the street. It was fun to people watch from there.

Our food was good and the service was excellant! We did it to knock it off the list of places we had never tried and were very happy with it. We would go back again!

We really like Tony's. Time was when it never got anything but negative reviews on the dis, but I do think they have improved. We have eaten there three times in the past three years and had great meals all three times. I love the Lady and the Tramp theming (which is understated but so neat since I love that movie), I think the pistachio creme brulee is the best creme brulee I have ever eaten and we've always had great service.

I am sure that if I was Italian I'd think "this is not my mom's sauce" but to me its very good. To me this and Plaza are MK must do's.

We were not fans of Tony's. I really wanted to like the place. We waited over an hour for our ADR, we had to sit on the floor or stand there was no seating and they were taking walk ins. Our waiter was super friendly until he asked if we were on the dining plan, his face literally dropped and we got very minimal service from him after that, all the while we watched him chat it up and be super friendly with surrounding tables. We felt like the red headed step children. Another waiter actually refilled our drinks because we could not get our server to come back, he kept saying he would be right with us and the other waiter noticed this. That waiter also took our dessert order since again our waiter was too busy yuking it up at other tables to help us. I wish we could have given our tip to the other waiter. The food was ok nothing special but by the time we got the food the magic was gone for us.

I certainly do realize that service is hit and miss everywhere it just left us feeling so bad we probably would not return there for a long time.

We never ran into any problems luckily with this. If this had happened to us i would have definitely had a word with him.

We ate at Tony's for the first time last Aug. I was nervous about it because of all the bad reviews. However we absolutely loved it. The services was great and the food was very good as well. We loved the desserts. Can't say one bad thing about the place. We look forward to going back our next trip. Enjoy.

I hope that the DIS keeps giving it bad reviews so it won't be so hard to get ADR's for those of us who LOVE it there! :thumbsup2

It's not on our list of favorites, but we like it and the location can't be beat

I like Tony's. My dd has a severe peanut allergy and the chef came out to talk to us. She ended up making her a huge meatball that dd loved ( I have pics it was so big). Also, the waiting area is right near where the characters come in and out for breaks. While we were waiting for our table, my two dd's were on the floor watching tv (Lady and the Tramp, of course) and Pinocchio and his dad came in and sat on the floor with them for a while. It was a very magical experience esp. since my dd didn't realize who she was sitting next to her at first. I would definitely recommend this place!

My DD also has a peanut allergy so I hope you don't mind me asking since we were considering Tony's for our Aug trip, but was the pasta safe for your DD? What was she told to stay away from? Were there safe desserts? Thanks in advance!

I think the atmosphere is great! So is the service! DH and I went for lunch in June and I casually mentioned to the waiter that I thought my meal was supposed to have bread on the side. Honestly, I could have cared less about it and I'm not even sure why I mentioned it. Next thing I know, we were presented with a super yummy ice cream sundae to make up for the missing bead. Overall, the food was kind of meh, but I enjoyed the experience!

We were pleasantly surprised by Tony's. We cancelled our character breakfast for our last morning and were going to replace it with a TS lunch or dinner, and a late reservation at Tony's was the only thing available. It looked like standard Italian fare, but it just tasted really, really good. Nice atmosphere, perfect spot to watch the 3:00 parade after dessert, good service, and we waited no more than five minutes.

We'll hit it up again from now on based on that experience.

You must have had the same server we did!

We ate at Tony's on October 3, which was during Free Dining. When we were seated, the first thing the server asked was whether we were on the DDP. When we said yes, he rolled his eyes. (I wanted so bad to tell him that we actually had to pay for our DDP, because we are DVC members.) Everything went downhill from there.

Our server took our drink orders, brought our drinks, then took our food order. Another server brought our food. We also had to ask him for rolls, since our server never brought any to our table. We didn't see our server again until it was time to order dessert. Another server brought out the dessert, and our server finally appeared when it was time to pay the check. He never once checked to see if we were satisfied with our meals (blech!), if we needed anything, or to refill our drinks. However, he seemed to have no problem helping his other customers.

Oh, and we were celebrating our anniversary that night. :sad2:
