We made reservations for Tony's Town Square one night on vacation. We chose it in hopes of timing it right to catch the parade and a few night rides after dinner so we would already be in the park. After reading some comments about Tony's I'm not sure of this decision. Can enyone who has been recently give me some feedback as to whether they liked it or not? Was it convenient to be able to do dinner then just scoot into the park? I've seen some bad reports about the food. We aren't looking for an authentic Italian experience but don't want to be overly dissapointed. Help!:confused3

Tony's is one of those places that brings out rather strong opinions on the DIS boards. my advice is: if the menu appeals to you, give it a try...never mind what others say!

It is convenient for catching parades and the food isn't memorable but it won't kill you. It's along the lines of an Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill.

We were going to go here next month but DH decided to drop it because of the negative feedback. We did MM in Dec and decided to ignore all the bad reviews, well it was as bad as everyone said it was and I wish we never went.

So we are going elsewhere.....

Personally, I like Tony's. I've only eaten there once, but the food was enjoyable for all members of the party. It was a departure day and we were spending it at MK. We all had a TS credit left and no ADR anywhere. So we looked at Tony's menu and decided to try it. I'm glad we did.

You really have to take all the reviews on here with a grain of salt, including mine. There are a few restaurants I like that a lot of people don't. But on the reserve side, there are some that I don't like or hold no interest for me that others rave about. That's one of the great things about WDW. It has something for everyone.

We love Tony's...Kids love to act out the famous Lady and the Tramp scene...

I last went June 2006; we had a late lunch, walked right out and sat on steps to see the afternoon parade. Some of the servers also came out and gave each of my children mickey ear confetti...

My husband had a pasta dish that he enjoyed and I believe I had a flat bread of some sort... Remember that I liked it but I enjoy out of the ordinary Italian.
Good Luck...

We went to Tony's expecting the worst since the reviews were so poor. We were so surprised how good it was. Our waitress was the best! The atmosphere was one of the best of our trip also. I got the chicken florentine and my DD (age 13) got spaghetti. The tiramasu was the best also. Even the tea was refreshing (it is unsweet but Spleda fixed that right up). I highly recommend it. It was the top of our restaurants on our trip. We expected so much fro Le Cellier but we were disappointed in the atmosphere there. Enjoy! YOu will be at Walt Disney World no matter where you eat!

My husband and I went to Tony's on our first dinner of our honeymoon to Disney last June. They had a table for us on the porch, and it was decorated. We thought the food was delicious (we split a steak), and we have eaten at many resturants around WDW. It was awesome! to have such a nice dinner, with great service, and watch the parade go by. We loved Tony's Town Square.
We even went back in august and that time we were not given a space on the porch because they were so busy, and they could not guarentee it. We sat on the inside but we still had a great dinner. We even had the same waiter and he remebered us!
I love the atmosphere in the evening. The area has a very open feeling, and because the windows are so big you can see all the lights on around main street USA. With a slight evening breeze, cool drinks, and GREAT service we always enjoy our dinner there.
It is one of our favorites in all of D. world. :)

We had a wonderful dinner at Tony's this past Thanksgiving weekend. All four of us had spaghetti and meatballs and enjoyed them immensly. We were sitting inside but had a great view out the window as Spectromagic came down Main St. DS said that the only he wants to do on our next trip is go back to Tony's!

We have an ADR here for our next trip - we've always wanted to try it, and have had to cancel this ADR twice, since - as little ones - the kids were too tired after a busy MK day. Now that we've been putting aside one eveing to stay in MK (not EMH, but a night with Spectro/Wishes), we figure we'll get the Tony's dinner in! LOL!

Just a note about the porch - it is small, and NOT in the AC, so if you are looking to sit out here to watch Spectro in the warmer months, you may not be interested in a big ol' plate of steamin' pasta!

This is exactly what we do every trip! MK is our favorite park so we save this for our last night! We always request a patio table so we can people watch and catch the parade as well!

We made ADR around 4:45 and arrived fresh from our hotel nap. We ate spaghetti which pleased the kids. From our table we enjoyed the evening flag retreat with a release of the doves. It was a nice, relaxing start to our evening MK adventure.

I mean it's spaghett, how bad could it be? Also, get the creme brulee (or however you spell it?)

Thanks to all for your responses! What is the flag and dove thing? Does this happen each night? I've never heard about this. Also, I didn't request an outside table... we are going in May so it shouldn't be too hot (thanks for the warning on that one! ) Can you really see the parade or is everyone lined up in front of you? Can you see the fireworks from there also? Our reservation is for 7pm and wishes start at 9 that night. Thanks again for everyone's input!

Yes, we could really see the parade. If anyone started standing in front of the porch or sit on the railing in front of our table, one of the workers for the restaurant was on patio "duty" and would tell them to go away so we could see. It was wonderful! But, unfortunately, no you can not see the fireworks from there. All you have to do is step out from the restaurant and head to that middle pub right there by the flag. Perfect view down MainStreet for Wishes. You might have to stand, but the view's worth it!

We really enjoyed Tony's in December. It was the surprise of our trip since I really thought based on the negative responses I had seen here it would be so so at best. But it worked well for our MVMCP night for schedule's sake and the food was actually really good. We all enjoyed the food, service, atmosphere and that pistachio creme brulee is still on my mind three months later! We will definitely be returning again. I have just sort of learned that not everyone has the same taste and therefore there is no way I can really know what I will like until I try it! And for what its worth, some of my favorite places to eat at WDW (Coral Reef, Sci Fi, San Angel) are some of the most least liked places on the dis! And my favorite resort is the always the one last in the "what mod should I stay at" polls (CBR). I guess I am weird!

We decided to give Tony's another try on Saturday...we were disappointed again. As I've mentioned in previous threads, menus have shrunk. There were not too many choices. We did not have ADR's but were able to get in, we had to wait, but that was ok. Hubby and I were disappointed again. We both got the seafood diavolo (one of our favorite dishes) and it had definately been sitting out based on the consistancy of everything. We got the calmari for an app. that was yummy. I got something w/artichokes and other veges before that wasn't on the menu, and that was the same thing..could tell it had been sitting.
