In our effort to try new places on our next trip we made an ADR for Tony's. The family loves Italian and you should see DD put away "ronies" ( I mean she's 2 1/2 it's amazing). After checking out the menu this seemed like a good choice. What do you think?

I didn't care for it at all when we went last July. It was below average at best. Some folks seem to really like it, we simply did not. :crazy2:

It didn't disappoint me enough to swear off ever going back. None of the TS restaurants at MK are any good, so my expectations at Tony's are probably a bit lower than elsewhere. I'm sure that if it were at Epcot, for example, I'd probably tell folks to avoid it like the plague -- there are so many better choices.

I like Tony's for dinner, DBF even said the meatballs are better than the ones his Italian mother makes :rotfl: I always get the eggplant and we both like the sauce and the dipping stuff they bring out for the bread. I had a sandwich at lunch which was good but I like dinner better.

Now if you want real authentic Italian food go to Alfredo's in epcot. But for Italian in the MK I didn't think it was bad. We are going back again next month.

I enjoyed it. I had pasta and it was really fresh and very good :thumbsup2 I am not going back on this trip because I am shooting for restaurants with more atmosphere but as far as food goes it was delicious and I have high standards!

Actually, if you want real, authenic, high-quality Italian food, go to Palio at the Dolphin.

We tried Tony's on a whim in January. The food was average-but the way the restaurant is decorated is very sweet and the waiter was very nice. I believe all of WDW needs to update their children's menu-if you are there for a week-chicken fingers and burgers get old quick!!! Tony's was average-you should do it at least once!

Can you give me some info on Palio? I was interested in possibly eating there. :)

Leave it. We tried it in 2004 & not much selection at all. Noone in my family
really liked it.

Loved Tony's Town Square.

We had our reservation for 2:45 (the last lunch reservation) and were seated outside. We got to see the whole 3pm parade in an enjoyable setting. The food was very good and overall...I loved it.

I plan on visiting there again for a late lunch so that we can see the parade again while eating. We will be there in May.

Food was o.k. but verrrry bland. Being from the southwest we are used to a LOT more spice. Restaurant is nice enough - clean and a quality staff. Theming is cute and with the re-release of Lady and the Tramp, very timely. Give it a shot.

Leave it! We've tried it twice. The first time I thought maybe we had a bad impression because dd wasn't feeling well, and the spaghetti and meatballs were so overpriced at $18! Tried it again this January. We were on the dining plan so we thought we'd give it a shot. Sauce tastes like tomato paste - go to Mama Melrose's instead. Much better food.

Leave it! We really didn't care for the food here at all. ITA about the tomato paste on the pasta. I can make way better at home! If you want good Italian, this isn't it.

Saying that, I have to tell you that my Dsis and her DH really like Tony's. Go figure!

Has anyone tried the panini's at lunch? If we go then i think that's what we will try.

thanks!
Amanda

We've been there three times and all of them were great. We've had parties of 2, 4, and 10. Even with 10 of us we had amazing service and food. I really enjoy this place but I don't look to it for italian food. 2 times I have gotten their steak, and once I got their eggplant. Both dishes were great!! This is a place that we would go back to. :thumbsup2

DH and I went in July for his birthday. It was very nice authentic Italian. There was a strolling violinist when we went. Here is a link for ressies at Paliohttp://www.swandolphin.com/restaurants/palio/reserve.htm
We do like to go to Tony's with the kids. They have good pizza and salad but the pasta is like the stuff you can buy in the grocery store.

We wont ever eat there again! :scared:
DH & I tried it a few times (against our better judgement), at all different seasons, all differnt times of the day.

Each time, the food was horrible! :crazy2:

Generally the servers are good, but the food is awful!

I think the food is just average too but it is my DS's (19) favorite restaurant and we ALWAYS have to eat there. If you are there when they open the restaurant for dinner, 3-4 of the waiters? come out to the lobby and sing like a barbershop quartet. They sing the song from Lady and the Tramp and a few others. They are really good and it's a fun way to start your dinner. I don't know if they do it for lunch or not.
