We have never tried Tony's and thought we would give it a chance.
Our last night at WDW - we spend in MK.
We would have already eaten at Cindy's, CP, LTT and the Plaza. :thumbsup2

How about :artist: Tony's Town Square ?

We would do a late dinner.
SpectroMagic :wizard: parade is at 9 PM that night at MK.
Can you see it from the restaurant ?

My husband and I ate at Tony's during spectro on our kidless vaca a couple of years ago. The food was really good. We arrived early and asked to sit on the porch, we had a great view for the parade.

Thank you - I made an 8:15 PM ADR for dinner.
We will have our kids (teenagers) with us.
It'll be our 21st anniversary - maybe they will give us a porch table too :goodvibes
I hope for no rain on July 1st !

When you check in for your ressie's arrive early, tell them you would like a porch table as it is your anniversary..hopefully you'll get one! Congratulations on your 21st!

Can you do that? When I made ADR's for Tony's the CM told me over the phone, only inside dining was available.

I've since changed the ADR to 1900 PArk Fare for breakfast that day, but only because we want to see Mary Poppins. I still want to try Tony's one day.

Yeah, you can do that, but I doubt if you can request a table on the porch when you make your ADR. I would recommend that you ask for a table on the porch when you arrive at Tony's.

I The last time I was at the Magic Kingdom (Sunday, March 19, 06), I had a reservation at Tony's for 7:00 pm and ended up sitting at a table for two (I was solo that trip), and watched the parade, sitting just behind the rail on the porch. Wonderful view, and I hadn't even expected to watch the parade at all. Disney Magic I guess.

Enjoy.

I know when I made my last couple ressies I was told to request porch table at check in if I wanted one.

thank you for the suggestion to ask for a porch table- looking foward to eating at Tony's :cool1:

actually, looking foward to not cooking meals for 8 days while at WDW :rotfl2:

If we are going to eat at Tony's when in the MK, we always stop by the podium as soon as we enter the park and tell them when we have our ADR and to mark us for a porch table.

We also remind them when we arrive that we had stopped by earlier in the day and had requested the porch table. It has worked every time.

Good luck and enjoy!

Just found this post and I have a question re: porch seating: Why is it so popular? I understand if you will see one of the parades, but if the timing is not right for that, would you still recommend the porch? It just seems to me that it will be hot outside (end of Sept, 5:40 PM), and we would rather sit down in the nice cool AC. Is there something I'm missing? Thanks!

Ditto - I was thinking the very same thing. Hot and muggy why sit outside to people watch? What are we missing?

If I were going to eat at Tony's during a time when there is no parade, and when it's also hot outside, I'd ask for a table inside. However, even if there were no parade scheduled, the view of Main Street is colorful and interesting, and I'd want to sit out there unless it were very, very hot and humid.

The time I was refering to in the previous post on this thread was just prior to the beginning of a SpectroMagic Parade (Sunday, March 19, '06). I had no plans to watch the parade, but ended up outside next to the rail and ate a bit slower than usual, and ordered desert so that I would be still sitting there when the parade started. Was a really nice experience. The CMs would not let children crowd the rail either, but told them they must stay at their tables. (The kids wouldn't have bothered me in the least, but I guess it's just Tony's policy to not let them hang on the rail.)

Enjoy.
