First time for DH and I.
We went with another couple who has eaten there several times over the decades and had pretty much crossed it off their list some time ago.

I wanted a decent sit dinner in MK pre-Pirates and Princess Party. And IMHO MK is pretty lacking for a decent sit down. I usually pass altogether on eating in MK. (Sad when Cosmic Ray's is really the best choice. :rolleyes1 )
I like LTT. But not over the top for it. And they were booked until something like 9:30. Not so much wanting characters either.

So my curiosity got the best of me and I booked Tony's. (Afterall, for years I read how bad 9 Dragons was and finally tried it and like it. Not a favorite. But it's good.)

We had a very good server last night. Big plus. :flower3:

DDE discount.

Beverages were just water and ice teas.
Fresh bread was brought out with a tomato base dipping sauce.
The bread and the dipping sauce were good. However -- the dipping sauce was straight from a cold, cold frig. :confused3 (And meant to be cold. :confused3 ) Everyone else thought the bread was cold too, like it had come from the frig. But it did taste fresh.
Our server asked how everything was and I mentioned the dipping sauce would be much better if it was heated. She said cold is how it is served.
The sauce reminded me of a thick plum sauce. Why anyone would plan to serve it straight form the refrig cold I don't understand. :confused3 But hey, I'm no gourmet.

For an entree I ordered Beef and Spinach Cannelloni - served with basil cream sauce. I made the right choice, because mine was GOOD. I was very happy with it. The dish was different, tasty and prepared just right. My portion was smaller than the others. But I still could not finish it. I gave mine a big thumbs up. Like 9 Dragons, it is not a favorite. But I would return again. I like the decor of Tony's also, and it was quieter compared to many WDW restaurants.

Now for the others:

DH ordered Spaghetti with meatballs in tomato sauce. He ate it, but he was not impressed, thought it was too expensive for what it was, and even said later he never wants to return to Tony's. He said it was $5 spaghetti dinner, not $17.
He said he has had better spaghetti at pre-pasta dinners at marathons where his expectations are low to start.

The other DH ordered the spaghetti with the sweet sausage choice. He ate it. But I don't think he was impressed. But since they had written Tony's off I don't think either were expecting to be impressed.

The other DW I forget what she ordered but it was basically a heavily breaded chicken breast sitting on top a plate of spaghetti and Tony's sauce. She did not say much either, but she rated hers higher than the guys.

We each rated our meals on a scale of 1 - 10, 10 being the highest.
The guys rated theirs 2, pushing 3.
Us gals rated ours in the 7 range.

I liked my dish and would not mind returning someday to have it again. It was different, yet good. But I don't know how much I would stray from that one dish.

The atmosphere was good and relaxing. The service was perfect.

So I have to say Tony's is probably about at the range one would expect to eat inside a theme park. Yes, Olive Garden would be better. But there isn't one inside MK.

Thank you for your review.

Last Tuesday, my 180 days opened, & I made ADRs for our upcoming summer trip. We picked Tony's & made an ADR for July 30. It sounds ok, but I'm wondering if I should switch to LTT.

I have a DD13 & DS9 & we always enjoy LTT, but for this upcoming trip, DH suggested trying some new places.

What do you think?

Well,. I did like my dinner last night. But between the two -- esp with kids and being on vacation -- LTT is the better bet, and more bang for the buck.
