From the Hollywood Reporter:
Tony To Named Disney's Exec VP, Production
Disney has found its man to run physical production.
The studio is bringing on board Tony To, who helped Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg make the duos acclaimed HBO mini-series Band of Brothers and The Pacific, to act as the studios exec vp, production.
To first worked with Hanks producing the HBO mini-series From the Earth to the Moon. He served as co-exec producer and directed several installments of the acclaimed Band of Brothers and its follow-up, The Pacific.
He has also directed several episodes of House and Harsh Realm.
To was also a producer on Carl Franklins 1992 thriller One False Move and worked with Robert Redford on HBOs Grand Avenue.
To will report to Disneys president of production Sean Bailey with responsibilities including overseeing all aspects of physical production for the studios live-action feature film slate.
To steps into a limelight position vacated by Bruce Hendricks, the longtime president of physical production who exited the studio in February. One reason for the parting of ways was personal cut-backs due to Disney making fewer live-action movies.
