Does anyone else have Tony for a guide? We made our first purchase with him back in 1999 and have added on since with him. I received my member clubhouse email and it's showing my guide as Gregory Coots. Has Tony left Disney? Anyone know?

I was wanting to add on a few weeks ago, but could not reach Tony. He's been my guide since our first purchase in 1999 as well. At first I was asked if Tony had always been my guide, then transferred to someone else who informed me Tony "went into management."(?) Anywho, I was then transferred to another guide, "Marshall", who sounded quite a bit older, and does not talk as fast as Tony(I think he sounds like a used car salesman, but I think and talk fast too, so it's cool with me). I haven't added on yet because I need time to decide if I want to do so through someone else(silly, I know), and I'm still peeved at Tony for not letting me know he was dumping me!

If the guy got promoted, he isn't dumping you, he is taking on many more of the rest of us in a position that is probably better for him and his family.

I do agree that DVC needs to have a system in place for better notification when guides leave or are promoted.

Tony was our guide, too. Found out he went to management when Greg called to say our BCV add on had come through. Greg seemed nice to talk to, he's been with DVC for 12-13 years and a manager for the last several years. He left management so he could work 50 hour weeks instead of 80. Also mentioned he has young childern he'd like to see more often. He and Tony actually switched offices.
We plan to go by and meet him and congratulate Tony when we're at SSR in July.

Well, as happy as I am for Tony, I'm just as sad for us. I really liked dealing with Tony!

I noticed when I got this month's newsletter that I no longer have an assigned guide. I was also wondering what happened to Tony.

You are lucky that you had one guide all this time. We joined in '95 with Patrick who sent us a Christmas card that year then he was gone by the time we added on with Maria a couple of years later. We have had at least two guides since that time. I was not able to reach "our" guide for our most recent addition, but no problem, another guide was able to help.

Since our first member clubhouse e-mail that indicated our guide to be "Tinkerbell", there has been a blank space next to "Your Member Guide" so I don't take our member guide assignment too seriously. I think that your guide of record gets whatever commission, if any, is paid, anyway.

How many times have you returned to your car dealership and found the same salesman still there? ;)
