We recently made this at home, as one of our trip countdown meals. Every bit as deleicous and calorific as we had at the Poly!!! Also made the strawberry compot to go along with it, but a much healthier version I'm sure. There is just no way to lighten up the deep-fried, sugar coated toast itself.
Actually, tasting Tonga Toast "dry" just reminded me of a sugared doughnut. Hmmmm, maybe I should be dipping my doughnuts in strawberry compote!
