We are going to Kona Cafe during our trip for breakfast. I was wondering if they bring syrup to the table with tonga toast? i know they bring that strawberry stuff out but i'm not sure if i'll like that.
Be sure to try it before you pour the syrup on it. I LOVE Tonga Toast - but it is really, really sweet as is - covered in cinnamon/sugar - To me the maple syrup it too much sweet. And believe me, I don't say that to often.
i was there easter week and yes they do bring maple syrup to the table (its on a little plate with the strawberry stuff) and i second the PP's idea to try it before putting the syrup on it because, personally i love it without the syrup

I soooo agree with chocovrdmicears!! I also rarely complain that things are too sweet....but Tonga Toast with syrup is a bit much. Try it WITHOUT syrup first for sure. Tonga Toast is absolutely HEAVENLY!!!! Kona has the best coffee too, and juice! (iliko juice i think its called). Enjoy!
can you get tonga toast anywhere but Kona Cafe? Maybe at the quick service place at Poly? I want to try it but no one else in my family likes to take the time for a full breakfast.

FYI, if you like real maple syrup, Kona has that in the back! We don't do the "fake" syrup (DS and DH are absolutely intolerant to corn syrup-based products like is in fake syrup), and they had the real stuff as well as the other stuff. It was so cool! (even Boma didn't have it...Kona and Hollywood&Vine did, though)
I was surprised at how much I liked the strawberry stuff, though YES it was very sweet.
I actually asked for the recipe the last time I had tonga toast and they gave it to me. Also, when character dining at O'Hana for Breakfast I asked for an order of tonga toast and the CM gladly got it for me! No syrup -------- way too good to ruin with syrup
yea the tonga toast is a must do for me but its very sweet since its rolled in cinnamon and sugar we never need syrup with it.. Id be afraid of going into a diabetic coma..LOL
