Where can I find Tonga Toast? Can you get it to go?

Tonga Toast is available at Kona Cafe, Captain Cook's and room service at the Polynesian.

Captain Cook's is the counter service restaurant at the Polynesian and you should be able to order it to go there but I recommend having a nice, table service breakfast at Kona.

Tonga Toast is a big, thick slice of (I think) sourdough bread, stuffed with a banana, deep fried, and rolled in cinnamon-sugar. It's served with maple syrup.

I was talking with one of the servers at Kona Cafe, and said I see Tonga Toast wasn't cut because of Iger's Eat Healthy campaign. He told me that over the years several of the chefs tried to take Tonga Toast off the menu, but the longest that lasted was 9 days. Apparently guests complain when they can't order it.

And there's nothing like lilikoi juice to start your day.

Tonga Toast is exactly as the previous poster described - and it is delicious. It has been on the menu at Kona Cafe, and it's previous restaurant (Coral Aisle Cafe) for as long as I can remember.

Boatwrights at POR has a version that is very similar - the only difference I recall (and it's been over a year) is that Boatwrights serves it with a strawberrry sauce.

Oh Tonga Toast....yummy!

You can get it at Kona Cafe & also Poly room service.

LOVE the tonga toast! (and if you're really really quiet while eating it, you can actually hear your arteries clogging....) - seriously, it's not the healthiest thing out there, but hey, it's DELICIOUS!!!

I just check the Captain Cook's menu updated Feb 07 in this site, wdwinfo.com, and it doesn't list Tonga Toast!!
As anyone been to CC the last few weeks and been able to get Tonga Toast?

While I like Tonga Toast, you need to be aware that it is very greasy and very sweet - it makes a Krispy Kreme look like health food. Its also very banana-y.

If you aren't a fan of sweet and deep fried, it probably isn't going to be very good. For a lot of people this is a Disney can't miss - but it also makes the list of "big disappointments."

(I can't eat a whole serving, when I get it, I've shared mine with everyone else and they've shared their real food (eggs) with me).

Yes, it sounds yummy...as a dessert! But I do want to try it!
We will be on the dining plan, and have a TS for Kona Bfast. There is no way we will be able to each all that food. Anyone ever ask for a "doggy bag" at Kona or other WDW TS restaurant?

We made it at home from the recipe on allears and it was really good. Definitely couldn't finish it all because of the sweetness.

I made sure to order the Tonga toast! It was good, but I couldn't finish it all. My husband ate the other half, even though he had that gigantic fruit plate and bran muffin.
