Tonga Toast at Captain Cooks

Is there anyway to get the strawberry compote without ordering it at the Kona Cafe?

The last time I was at Captain Cooks (January of this year), I asked if I could get the compote with my Tonga Toast and they said no. I thought I had heard otherwise previously, but they assured me I couldn't. To me, I think the compote makes the whole dish!

One of my travel kiddos didn't like the Tonga toast at all (wet bread issues); the other thought it was fine w/o the strawberry compote.

Thank goodness I paid the Captain Cook price to learn this info.
I could make a credible strawberry compote substitute with a lil' apple juice and the complimentary Smucker's (?) berry jam nuked in the microwave.

I was there in February of this year and was also told no.

Honestly I like it better without the strawberry compote. Its sweet enough without it.
