Am I referring to the General Election or the launch of Disneyland's 50th Anniversary? LOL

Are you all ready to vote?

I am going to head to our polling station on the way to taking the children to school tomorrow - then I know I've done it and I thought it might be interesting for them to see it. Not very, I know!!

We should combine the two!!- Mickey for your local MP!!

.................after all, we did elect a monkey as mayor here in Hartlepool.............

I will be voting on my way to work at 7.15am. Got in from work today and the canvasers have been out in force as I had about 10 leaflets from all the different partys on the mat.

Sue

I will be so pleased when tomorrow is over, I'm fed up of Party Political Broadcasts, leaflets through the letterbox and interviews with the politians on the news.

Yes I will be voting tomorrow, but it seems to have been a very long month with the campaigning.

BTW voting for Mickey Mouse as Prime Minister would have all the country out voting - LOL, and I bet it's going to be a great day in WDW tomorrow.

Thanks to this incredibly well thought out election, I've somehow managed to be able to vote twice tomorrow

But I'm going to be honest and head down to the polling station after dinner, all the while wishing I was in Disneyland! :p

Wish it was the Disneyland celebrations that would get all the coverage on TV tomorrow....instead of the election;)

I will be taking younger DD's when I vote on the way home from school and DH will take eldest DD with him in the evening (she is at secondary school and gets the bus home by herself). I expect they will find it EXTREMELY boring:rolleyes2 but I do feel rather strongly that everyone (especially women, what with the suffragettes and all that) should vote or they have no right to moan.

But I would much rather be in a Disney park, I'm not fussy, any one will do!:sunny:

Thought it was a good idea to get involved in the process, so I'll be on duty at polling station.
I've already submitted my vote by post.
Taking Disney Wars to read as 7.00am - 10.00pm is a long day :wave2:

I have voted in every election for which I've been eligible since I was 18 (local and European included  ) and I'm not going to let the fact I'm enjoying myself in Orlando spoil a perfectly good record - I have authorised my first proxy vote!

An ex-colleague and friend is the prospective Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Gloucester. He has devoted his life to the City from a very young age (he's still only in his early 30s) and he so deserves to be our MP. I will be rooting for him tomorrow and trying to catch some footage over here. The texting has been red-hot today!

I also will be voting on the way to taking DD to nursery. Our polling station is only open 8am to 9pm - shorter opening hours than others. I too think it is very very important to vote as an earlier poster said - women died so that we can put our X in the box today.

I think it would be a lot more interesting if they did an election/spectromagic style parade, you could have the current pm in a big snowglobe with all other party leaders dancing around the edges and canvassers dressed as characters covered in lights.... hmmmm would certainly get more people in the polling stations. I'm going tonight although still undecided :confused3

Well, cast my vote already, for all the good it will do!!! I think we all know who will be in control.....again!!!

Wicked idea!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm voting this evening when housemate gets home from work. Apparently the polling station is within walking distance from us but I'm not sure where it is as I've never voted before, not through apathy - this is the first vote since I turned 18. I'm sure the voting process will live up to my expectations!!

i have just cast my votes, i took the kids with me and one of the helpers gave them a chocolate each....obviously trying to win future votes :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

When we went to vote this morning DD who's 4 was asking what we were doing why we were doing it etc. Explained about having to have people that you trust and like who make decisions for everybody and she said "do you want to know who I'd vote for then? Thierry Henry"!

................what a frightening image I've got in my head now!!

I was on polling duty yesterday (6.30 am to 10.15 pm) and was surprised at how busy our polling station was! Our turn-out was getting on for the 70% mark but it seems that was quite a bit higher than average from what I've seen on the news this morning.

I've only done it once before when I was in a very small village polling station and the time dragged on a bit , so yesterday I went armed with a load of magazines and books to read, letters to write, (and a few travel guides to peruse ;) ) and didn't manage more than five minutes at any of them!

I'm quite tired today!

that was an excellent turnout. Our station only managed 56%, which was up from last time.
Weather was awful yesterday which did not help

We had good weather, so I'm sure that helped! :sunny:

Actually, I've just run the numbers again (I know, I should get a hobby or something! ;) ) and I was a bit over-enthusiastic with my 70% - it was 68.5%, but that's without knowing how many of the 135(ish) postal votes (out of 1132 on the roll) were returned. If all of those were returned, our voting electorate would be up to 82%!!! The roll also includes a large nursing home and no-one from there came to vote (some had regsitered as postal), which was a shame.
