tomorrowland terrace fireworks dessert party

Food is very meh. Not good. The view is amazing, though. I'd do it again just for that.

The view and the fact that you don't have to fight for a spot and cram in with everyone else is worth the price for us. I got some amazing pictures that I could have never gotten stuck in the crowd.

I wouldn't say the food is not good, its not great though. Its just nothing special that you couldn't get at any chain restaurant. If you are looking for 5 star gourmet desserts you will definitely be disappointed, but you'll still have a nice spot to watch Wishes.

I was set on doing this for my Honeymoon in May. When I first inquired about making reservations I had just made my dining reservations so I was 180 days out. I was told that I could make them 60 days out.

About a month or so ago I called to make sure it was 60 days and not 90 (I couldn't remember what the CM told me) and was told that they changed the policy and were now allowing booking at 180 days.

I had them do a sweep of our entire stay (over a week) and everything as full. I'm actually quite upset but realize that it's no one's fault.

I'm hoping that I'll either be lucky and catch a cancellation or that concierge at the WL can help me out in some way (a long shot but you never know).

Not to discount your experience (and the experience of many others) but this is no longer true. I think it changed sometime this Fall? I booked at exactly 180 days out for my trip this June. As have many others here.

Well that is a welcome change! :goodvibes Glad they fixed that b/c that was crazy!

That may be your experience, but as with everything disney, it changes and it has.
We made reservations for this on January 20 for July 22 this summer, as did our friends going the same night. Look on the website and you can see it is 180 days out now, in fact it is 180+10 for resort guests.
YUP.........did ours at 180 +10 at 7:15 am

Thanks for all the feedback, is it possible to go to California Grill and just have a drink and dessert?

I have a reservation for two nights of our stay (one of which is at 9pm and one is at 7:30pm) Having looked at the menu it sounds really great quality but I'm worried that some of the mains are little bit too fussy for our taste.

I would almost prefer to eat our mains elsewhere (there are so many choices in Disney - last time we ate in Kona Cafe and absolutely loved the food and atmosphere) and then head up to California Grill for the view.

The desserts look amazing and I'm sure the wine is too! Maybe I keep the 9pm booking... I didn't realise this was a possibility.

Our wishes dessert party was rainy and cold. Everybody thought the hot chocolate was worth the price. ;) They also had some kinda banana things that I went overboard on. The rest of the stuff was OK.

we are 121 days out from our trip....checked every day (1 week) and it's sold out....do they ever open up more seats?

We're 129 days out... I booked mine at 180 days out.

Since it's paid in advance and not just a credit card guarantee I wouldn't think there would be many cancellations.

The time my family went the weather was beautiful ,no wind, low 50's ....looking for some coffee I noticed there was no cream left...I asked the waitress for cream or milk (both were empty) took her over 30 minutes to come back , at that point there was no more coffee just tons of cold cups of black coffee...no more cocoa....by the time she got back with the coffee the fireworks started and they started taking the dessert away....the biggest disappointment was that Tink did not fly .....over all not worth the $150++

i picked up a cancellation, for our arrival night, by watching the cancellation thread here . I started booking our dining the first week in January and we arrive at WDW on 2/25. just be sure to be diligent in checking

The cast member that I talked to the second time told me that people actually cancel them right, left, and backwards a few days before their reservation. He suggested waiting until a few days before we left to start hunting for cancellations.

It's always worth a try :). Heck, I've been checking every other day and our trip isn't until May.

I've done this twice now ~ and will try for a reservation every subsequent time we go in the future.

I agree with others, keep on checking... There will usually be cancelations and things open up. If you are at the lucky moment to catch the open spots...

It is a nice moment to catch the action, and be out of the crowd, and the desserts are great - and wonderfully ice cold milk!

Enjoy! :cool2:

The view is great and you have a reserved spot so don't have to fight the crowds or sit for two hours. The desserts aren't quite awful but aren't good so don't go for the food. In other words, if you really want to see Wishes (and it is a great show) and don't mind spending $25-30 a person for a good viewing spot then you should do it.
