Tomorrowland Speedway

Has anyone heard if the Tomorrowland Speedway might be open ahead of schedule? Right now it says closed until mid-May. We are going the first week of May and are hoping it might be up and running again by then. It was my niece's favorite ride last time.

I don't think it's changed, the scheduled opening day for the speedway is May 18th but I when I watched a Tim Tracker recently, it doesn't look like much is really going on at the speedway for the refurb, sounds like it all depends on the new Tron coaster construction schedule. Hope it's ahead of schedule. My girls do the speedway every trip and now they're old enough to "drive" so it's quite comical. I always say I'm never riding it again with all that exhaust smell but I do it every time.

please tell me the refurb will include electric cars? I hate the exhaust and cringe when DD asks if we can go on it. Gilroy Gardens (an amusement park in Northern California) has a similar ride with electric cars which I absolutely love.

As far as I know, they are just relocating some track to make way for Tron. It’s not really a refurb of the ride.

I don't think so. I think it's just making room for the tron coaster.

From what I've read, the current work is relocating the track for Tron. Everyone is hoping that as it gets closer to Tron opening, it will have a full rehab and go to electric vehicles.

Unfortunately, no. The train closure is expected to last about 2 years, so we have a while to go still.

How sad, I had no idea the train was going to be closed for so long.

Very true. I enjoy the train. Worst part was we didn't ride it last fall when we were there and it was closed before we went back this spring.

How closely do they stick with published re-open dates? We arrive on the 19th and this is one of the big attractions for my little guy.
