HALF of the excitement is just GETTING there...usually i'm sad when i get on the plane to GO to disney....this time it will be 8 nights, but still i'm sure that it will go by SOOOOOOOOOOO fast!!!!
I guess it would look bad if you called in sick right before a vacation, huh?? I can relate, the next 10 days are going to drag for me too! Have fun!!!
I completely agree but i think for us Thrusday will be the day that will stink and go by sooooooooooo sloooowwww because we don't leave until Thrusday night!!!! even though we won't be in Disney until Saturday (because we take the autotrain) i can't wait and am extremely anxious to leave NY!!!!!!!
Do something enjoyable. Watch a movie. Solve a crossword puzzle. Start reading a book (go to the library?) Maybe take a drive somewhere on the spur of the moment.
If you are working tomorrow, just pretend you are not going to Disney and make every task you undertake the best you can do.
Or catch up on some chores around the house. So when you come back home from disney the stack of dishes in the sink or the pile of clothes in the hamper is not that big.
Decades from now, when you are sitting in a wheelchair in the corridor of a nursing home, those sitting similarly around you incoherent, you will remember that day before a Disney trip that you sat glassy eyed on the sofa gazing into space or sat at the empty dining room table wishing that the day would go by. You will wish you had done something useful that day.
I agree. The anticipation of waiting for the trip is agonizing. We leave Thursday night for my sister's in Baltimore and catch our flight on Friday a.m. I just want to be *safely* there
But tomorrow, I'm working and Thursday - finish packing and cleaning - Friday will be here before you know it.
I leave Thursday morning too...do you think Disney keeps track of how many times I call to "verify" my ressies? It feels so great to be wished a "magical" evening.
Zipbags,
I see you live near Jersey Shore, are you flying out of Philly on Thursday morning? If so maybe we will be on the same flight, we are airtran and we will be the family wearing orange disney T shirts, so corny
We don't leave until 8am Saturday L.A. time, but I already have this odd, melancholy feeling. The 2.5 months of planning and reading and preparing WHOOSHED by and now all of a sudden, departure date is right around the corner. I feel like . . . . I want to prepare for another week.
Anticipation is so much fun through all of the research and projecting (pretty much what I do at my job everyday). Now it's nearly time for the actual "goin' and doin'" and I have to let go and just relax, let OTHER people have control (the cabby, the airport, the shuttle drivers, the Magical Express people, the check-in desk . . .) Ugh.
