We are heading to Disney tomorrow for our son's first trip (he's 2 1/2) and he now has a bad cold. :-( We just have Goofy's Kitchen tomorrow-but I'm so worried that we will need to majorly scale back our trip or he won't enjoy it as much.

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.

Awwww...I hope he gets a good night's sleep and feels better in the morning!
Hope you have a great trip anyway!

Tomorrow's the big day! Exciting. You know, colds are a bummer, but I doubt it can keep your son from having a great time! Just be sure you're able to take daily naps. At that age, they need the naps anyway. With a cold, it will be especially needed. Don't push things, but don't worry too much either. He'll have a great time! :cool1:

Aww, poor kiddo. On one of our WDW trips, DD had a bad cold - it was amazing what good medicine a little Disney was! :)

I hope he'll be much better in the morning and you can all have a great trip!!

I can't tell you how many times we've done Disney with someone having a cold. Sadly usually me! lol Just keep him hydrated, and some cold meds handy if they help. Take breaks when needed. We always still have a great time, just maybe can't go at full speed at all times like we plan! lol Have a GREAT trip!

I agree. Treat his symptoms the same way you would at home and make sure he keeps hydrated.

Hoping he has a Magical First Trip.

Bummer. Hope he feels better! We had one trip with two of our DK's sick. We just took it slow and kept them hydrated. It's amazing how much better they felt when they were in the park. :)

We had this happen once as well. My dd was about 1 1/2 at the time and right before the trip she came down with an ear infection. We were able to get the antibiotics but they made her sick to her stomach and really sleepy and it was tough. To make matters worse we had my other two kids so we didn't want to ruin the trip for them so we kind of just had to make due. Luckily my little one was still in a stroller so we let her sleep a lot of the time and she did go on some rides and such but we got through it. As someone mentioned kids I think are more resillient then adults in a way and some will tolerate a lot more. Just see that he is comfortable and if you need to perhaps take several breaks so he can rest if needed.

And I agree make sure he keeps up on the fluids.

Good luck and have fun!!

Aw...hope your littel one heals up quickly. We just returned from our trip two weeks ago. DD had a bad stomach bug for about half of it though...she didn't eat much and had the runs. :( Although she wouldn't eat much, we tried our best to make sure she would drink for hydration. Lots of Jamba Juice, yogurt, and applesauce when she would eat. Gatorade tastes much better than Pedialyte too! I think she still had a great time...we did take things at a slower pace though...which was fine since this trip was for her. Me and dad still got to ride Soarin which was pretty much the only ride on our wish list. I hope you guys still have a great time!

I'm sorry to hear about your son! :( I hope he gets well soon! Sounds like tomorrow should be a good day to take it easy, at least, and maybe he'll be back to at least 80 or 90% by the time you enter the parks. :flower3:

I would go get Kids Emergan-C, it works wonderfully for colds!! It'll help him get better quicker
