My DD and I are headed to WDW in two weeks and she has been perusing the maps that Disney sent us. There is no mention of Tom Sawyer's Island or Tomorrowland Transit Authority. Does anyone know if they are still in operation?

Thanks!

Yes to both. The riverboat attraction is sidelined throught the summer, but the rafts still take adventuresome explorers across the great water to Tom's island. And the TTA still winds its mellow way through the Tomorrowland attractions. My kids, by the way, loved the TTA despite its 7 mph pace. They liked the peeks inside Space Mountain, Buzz, and Stitch.

Eeek! Let's not talk about Stitch! That is the most horrible use of an attraction and space, in my opinion! :furious:

I love TTA as well. It is a good way to relax and cool off on a hot afternoon and passing through the attractions (as mentioned above) is pretty nifty! :thumbsup2

Agreed on Stitch, but I had to enjoy my 7-year-old loving the attraction, and forcing one or another of us to take him through it four or five times during our trip. Especially after older sister figured out where to sit so he got spit on. Sometimes you have to enjoy your trip vicariously.

I like to ride the WEDway People Mover (known today as TTA) to once again see the model of what Epcot should have been, or should I say EPCOT.

ITA. It was about a half hour of my life that I will never get back - and that foul stench blown in my face - DISGUSTING! I should have listened. I heard it was bad...but the 5 min wait on a rainy night was too tempting. In hindsight, I should have stood in the rain as it would have been more refreshiing and smelled better.

The TTA was wonderful and my toddler loved it - twice!

On my May 28, 2006 trip, I knew nothing about this ride. I was expecting it to be something pretty neat. So, I waited for 42 minutes for this attraction, I wouldn't have given it a good thirty seconds if I knew what it was. I am sorry, but I honestly think that Disney needs to reconsider this attraction - it is disgusting. I would like to see a Stitch Escape Ride, not a Stitch attraction that in my opinion, doesn't make since.

Okay - thats my 2 cents! :rotfl:

A ride - or anything else that doesn't provide the audience with a big wiff of "chili dog" gas would be an improvement. But strapping us into a non-moving chair that pumps out noxious gases is just crossing the line IMHO. There is "bad" and then there is that.

I'm soooooo sorry you stood in line for that. At least I just went in to take cover from the rain.
