Tom Sawyer Island

Looking at the Disneyland calendar for some of the days we plan to be there. It clearly shows "Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer Island" as closed. (above link)

But then this link (above) shows that while it is closed, the island is still open to visit.

While I believe the official Disneyland site over the other. As the closure has already started, I was wondering if anyone has been there since the closure and could report on if the island was still accessible during the Pirate's Lair closure.

Of course that is no guarantee that it will be accessible when I am there. But now I am just curious. I would imagine that with Pirate's Lair closed and Mark Twain closed; that they wouldn't bother running the rafts to have people visit the island.

I think I remember reading somewhere that the island part is open except for the one end where Fantasmic is done because they are doing some refurbishment to Fantasmic in that area. That would be the end where you can see Columbia sailing ship docking/loading area across the River Of America. But don't quote me on that, and I would tend to lean more to what the Disneyland site says as that is official. Hope its open for you.

True, that is what the 2nd link that I posted, says. But the official Disneyland closures listing isn't that specific. I am just curious if anyone has yet confirmed in person that the island is indeed open during this "closure".

Well if anyone goes before I do, I would love to hear if the island transport "rafts" are operating. And I will post my findings once I go. I know it's not really a big deal, I am just curious. Especially since so much is closed in that area in Jan/Feb.

Odd, then they should change the descriptions of the sections. The other huge section says it's for WDW and this section says it's for Disneyland California. Which is the only reason I posted here.

What is the appropriate sub-section? I keep seeing Disney "World" in the descriptions.

AH, I see what you mean. I went a sub-section too far. Should I just start over and re-post in the section you pointed out and delete this one? I have it copied into notepad.

UPDATE: I guess it might make more sense at this point to just delete this whole thread and I will just go with the other thread you posted since I see people have already started commenting there.

they are fixing/refurbing/upgrading some things on Fantasmic and they utilize the island for that and don't want everyone in the way or wanting them to see how they make the magic.

Whole island is closed. Only workers are using the raft to transport. I asked and it's completely closed until Feb 8th. I am standing in front of it right now.
