Tom Sawyer Island

I read somewhere that the island is going to be turned into some kind of Pirates attraction. Has this happened yet? Also, we've never been at DL when the canoe rides were up and running, is this a seasonal attraction? Will it be there mid Dec?

When we were at DL a few weeks ago I was talking with the captain of the River Boat and he said that Tom Sawyer Island was going to be changed into a Pirate theme but Pirates based on Tom Sawyer. There wasn't going to be too many changes though. So not sure!

hmmmmmm Id love for it to be changed into a pirate theme! That would be exciting. Its time they revamp that island. No little kid knows the story of tom sawyer. Give it another generation and that story will be LONG GONE! I know some adults still love Tom Sawyer, but its really time for a change. I do hope they go through with it.

a lot of ppl are fighting it because its the only remaining Untouched place designed by Walt Himself. Its there for Setimental value...

Well I learned something new today. I didnt know that. Although I do believe it will be touched after awhile. I can see why people are fighting it.
