"I'm saddened," Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle, D-South Dakota, said Monday, before Bush addressed the nation. "Saddened that this president failed so miserably at diplomacy that we're now forced to war."
I got that quote from CNN.com, and I must say it infuriates me. Does he honestly think that Saddam is willing to negotiate!?!?! Somehow it seems to me that Saddam is to blame, not President Bush. It's a shame that the government leaders can not refrain from name calling at a time like this.
I wish I could remember what Dem. I heard today, but he sais it was time for both parties to come together and stand behind out troops. It was as though he new comments were being made that should not be.
I REALLY don't want to argue, but would someone like to explain some of Presdient Bush's level of incompetence. Can we blame him that for 12 years Saddam made the choices he did?
I'm teaching my child about self-defense. If she gets attacked on the playground she has the right to defend herself.
I don't want to go to war either. Who does?
I doubt Saddam is someone who anyone can reason with. Republican or Democrat.
Basically, what Daschle said was that American soldiers were going to die because of Bush's diplomatic failures. I'm not one of those who believes that the opposition should suspend their criticism of the President at this time. However, this is over the top. Saddam was never going to give up his weapons, and the French and Germans were never coming on board.
