Sports Illustrated announced today that Tom Brady has been named Sportsman of the Year and he will appear on the cover of the issue hitting the newsstands on Wednesday. The award is given to an athlete for symbolizing in character and performance the ideals of sportsmanship.

He is the first pro football player to receive that honor since Joe Montana in 1990.

Most important, he looks really hunky on the cover.
