Tolls

Are there toll booths on the road from the airport (MCO) to WDW and are there any tolls close to WDW. Heard you needed exact change and I just wanted to be prepared. How much are tolls?

There are 2 ways to go, one takes ABOUT $1.25 in tolls, (this is the one that LEADS you to I-4) and the other about $2.50. I have never HAD to have exact change, there is an attendant at least in one of the booths.

Which route are you taking? I suggest 417. You don't have the traffic that you do on the Beachline and I-4. Yes you pay a little more but you don't arrive stressed at WDW.

I forget which road we took last time but it was the one with the most tolls... I would probably agree it is 417 but I did not pay that close attention. I think if you follow the airport exit signs, this is the road you magically end up at (coincidence???). There are a couple of exits off this road that have unmanned tolls but if you stay on til the end all the booths are manned. The end of the road brings you out at I4 but you do not need to get on I4 as this is also where the I4 exit is for Disney. Based on the traffice we saw I think we lucked out as it looked like I4 was not moving.

The higher toll road is Route 417 that is accessible by the south exit of the airport. There are manned toll booths along the length of the road, but when you exit, most of the booths are either for the Florida version of electronic toll paying or an exact change lane. The toll is 50 cents. I know that this lane is set up to be manned as well, but in five years, I have never seen it set up any other way except for exact change. I think as long as you have a dollar in mixeed coins, you should be alright for that exit.
