Can you still pay cash for all the tolls from the airport to the port and also going the other direction to the parks?

Just saw a notice when I booked a rental car that Thrifty charges $10+ per day to use their cashless system. Thought that was pretty pricey.

Have always found the south exit from MCO simple. Just follow signs. At pick up for car MAKE SURE transponder is deactivated. At each toll booth (3) there is a simple turn to the right where you pay cash. I always found simple to have $4 quarters for exact change but not essential. If you use transponder ONCE, for rental then you pay for each day of rental. Again, just make sure it is deactivated

Yes, the tool booths on 528 between the airport and Port Canaveral all have separate cash lanes. They will be to the far right and almost look like you are exiting the road.

Are the cash lane toll booths the coin basket catchers only, or do they still have actual people working one booth for folks who don't have quarters? If manned, are they staffed with living human beings 24/7?

Thanks

They have real live human beings.

Cash is King ...

Baskets so what if you miss .... just get out of car & start again .... Forget the car behind you..

You may never see it again .

This is my first time renting a car and driving around WDW. Are there tolls from the airport to Bonnet Creek???

I got myself a Sunpass and just use that each trip. No more worries. I got slammed with penalties and charges from Alamo one time, after I got home.

I DID pay the toll, brought a roll of quarters with me, but I guess I went too fast (not sure how with all those coins to toss). Some exit booths are now unmanned as well.

Yes, and they all have a staffed lane where you can get change -- and a receipt, which is a good thing to get in a rental car.

@joelkfla what is the status of FLA recognizing MA's Easy Pass tranponders?
We are driving from MA to Fla and since MA went cashless this winter we now have an Easypass transponder. How far south can we get as of now?
TIA

With the exception of CT (apparently no support for electronic tolls at all?), can get all the way south through North Carolina. No E-ZPass support in South Carolina, Georgia, or Florida.

Thank You for the current information, I appreciate it.
I did think that I read here several months ago that there was an initiative to extend the recognition of EZpass all the way south through Florida. Not sure though that that is really true.
Thanks Again

Yes, the plan is to have all toll systems in the nation work together. FL Turnpike says they're still working on EZ-Pass interoperability, but no date as of yet.

Ah yes, the dreaded MA cashless system. It may be good for MA residents, but awful for us visitors. When I go in April, although I'll only be on the Mass Pike on arrival and departure day, I have to rent a transponder for my rental car and pay for that rental for the whole 10 days. At least in Florida they give you the option of paying cash. Once you get beyond the airport in MA, from what I heard, they don't. Florida's system is so much better.

I hadn't thought about the visitors. That is awful.
