Just wanted to say what a wonderful park TDS is!!!
We went in July 2004 at the opening day of Braviseamo!
The place was packed but you never would have known it.
Everything there is done with politeness and smiles, as it should be, and as it is all over Japan. I was so impressed with the efficiency and their ability to never have a line waiting anywhere. It was a good size park and we had a totally relaxing day. Loved Neptune's Palace - a great place for kids. And got some great pictures on the camel in the Arabian area.

Even if you don't speak a word of Japanese, it is worth the trip!!

Thanks for the question! I love talking about TDS, it is just the coolest!
There are different areas of the park - they are as follows - American Waterfront, Port discovery, Mysterious Island, Mermaid Lagoon, Mediterranean Harbor, Lost River Delta and Arabian Coast.
The Mysterious Island has the old 20,000 Leagues under the Sea ride that used to be at WDW - updated, of course. Mermaid Lagoon has an unbelievable Ariel's Theatre show with Huge mechanical Asian "puppets" - read the size of a building. Arabian Coast has Sinbad's journey - which is a ride-ride similar to Pirates of the Caribbean. Lost River delta has an Indiana Jones ride - not quite like the one at MGM. And, of course, please don't miss the gondola ride thru the Mediterranean Harbor - you've never heard better Italian opera singers - even though they are Japanese.

The food sort of matches the area's name. For instance, there is a great Italian place in MH. And lots of American Cuisine in the AW. There are many different cultural foods all over. The food is kind of like Epcot. The rides are kind of like MGM and the atmosphere is kind of like all the parks rolled into one. The only truly "Japanese" style changes that I noticed was that most of the portions were smaller on the plated foods. And the snack huts sold sushi and salty snacks (read seaweed), and whole fruit. But there is plenty of variety - even for a picky eater.
