We have two back to back vacation packages at the DLH but will need a room only reservation for the day in between. As of now the hotel is fully booked for vacation packages for the last week of November. Does this mean when we go in a month from now to book a room only, there will be no more rooms? Once they are taken by the vacation packages that's it?

What dates? Are you just looking at the Unlimited VP?

Room only will sell fast.

I'm still seeing some 2 night packages available that week for DLH.

But I don't think they put every room up for VPs, some are set aside for room-only bookings.

If you aren't able to book when the room-only window opens, make a back up booking at another hotel. Rooms do tend to open up once you get close to the cancellation window (usually 14 days out) so just keep checking back. The exact category you want may not open but almost guaranteed SOMETHING will become available.

We are in a similar situation, we are looking for a room the night we arrive in Japan before our vacation package. If we have to stay a different Disney hotel will they transfer luggage for us? We are booked at Mira Costa.

Yes and it's very easy. On your TV there is an option for luggage transfer-you just select it and fill out the info, then leave your bags in your room. Usually they place the bags in your next room, unless you get there in the afternoon. But if you are arriving at your next hotel at park closing, ours were always already in the room.

Thanks!

I just answered my original question. :) This week I was able to book 3 more rooms at DLH to add to our VP in November. It wasn't difficult. There were always rooms available those first few minutes; usually gone by 11:10am though. Now, if we were going for FS, Mira Costa or Toy Story we'd be out of luck. They were gone by 11:02. It's insane..... :sad2:
